Runtime Error

Hello-

Game setup:

D3D and sound disabled

System Specs:
WinXP Pro, Current updates.
Athlon XP1900
512 MB Ram
Radeon 9800 Pro, Current drivers
DirectX9 is current

The error message is:
Dialog box pops up with a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" title.
Runtime Error!
Program: e;\games\ootp6\ootp6.exe
abnormal program termination

At various times in the game I will get the abnormal program termination issue. If I start a historical league and import from lahman it will crash. There are times I can play a normal carrer and sim for a few weeks and then out of nowhere same issue pops up and I cannot proceed.

Any help is appreciated.

How much free HD space, you need to tell me about the league and ANY changes that you have made.

Thanks for the reply.

46 gigs free on a 120 gig drive.

Starting a historical league, no manager carrer, year of import is 1917 with 162 games per team.

Advanced import options are default.

The game will start to import players and usually half way through the runtime error crops up.

This is a clean install without mods or player photos. I like to leave all options at defaults when playing. Sound, menu animations and D3D are always off.

edit: version is 6.01

Also, just noticed that the Game Configuration exe still says "OOTP 5 Configuration" in the title bar.

You might try looking in the mods forum for an updated database and try that, sounds like a db issue but not sure.

Have tried other databases but no luck.
