Anyone have the "Scoop" on Pitching Ratings?

Hi!

I'm wondering if anyone has the scoop on what pitching ratings "map" to? With batters, it's fairly straightforward. (Contact affects BA, Homerun Power affects HRs, Eye affects BB/Ks I'm guessing, and Gap represents extra base hits).

With Pitchers, I'd assume Control has to do with BB/K ratio, with WP thrown in. What about the others? Is velocity much of a factor? Movement? Stuff?

Thanks in advance,

Search for Markus' post regarding this. It is probably in ootp5 comments & feedback, under "ootp6 update" or something.

Good Movement (Primary Rating)& Good Control=Less HRs
Good Stuff (Primary Rating)& Good Velocity & Good Control= More SO
Good Control (Primary Rating)= Less Walks

This was buried in a thread I can't find but, I wrote it down.

What a great job, Darryl! This is exactly what I was wondering! I suspected some of the things you have noted (my 3B has an eye of 100, and a contact of 56, but bats around 290 normally, but had as many strikeouts as another player with an eye of 20 and a contact of 55...)

I look at the information you've provided as this--my scout and I have discussed what each rating means, so we are on the same page when he tells me a guy has a good eye.

Is it me, or do others think, though, that a good eye should indicate fewer Ks, as well? (Perhaps it does indicate fewer called Ks, though...hmmm...the permutations are endless....)

Thanks again!

I think the eye ratings simply means if the batter takes pitchers or not. Patience, in other words. For the two guys mentioned above with different eye ratings and similar contact ratings, what was their Avoiding K's rating? I would similar...

Ankit my historical hero, what do you think of OOTP6 as to how it affects the historical player? I have some reservations myself.
