I've simmed many seasons and no league I've started has ever "dried up and died" for lack of talent.

What should the percentages be for player modification?

Steve's point is true because many players who don't look like much on draft day develop into decent players over time. The drafts do tend to look thin at the time which does take some of the fun out of it. Personally, I'd prefer it to be more like real life where there are many more players who seem to have significant potential, but then of course don't pan out as planned. Yes, I know there are certainly already players who fit that description in the game currently. (I have a knack for drafting them in the 1st round)

Another area of the draft that I'd like to see improved is in the bottom of the pool. My league uses five rounds and rounds 4 and 5 are full of players with basically no talents in any area. That's not true to life, no player would get drafted without appearing to be good at something, even if they were just the blazing speed but can't hit or the great fastball zero control types.

This is a topic that the testers have gone back and forth about and tested quite a bit in this area. I believe that we feel that it is better to have the draft pool(as it is) for the most part. Because if you put too many more stud players initially then you would also need to increase the number of flops and no one really likes to see that even though it would be proportional to the amount of guys who flop now.

This is an area that we will continue to examine and adjust as we see the need, thanks for the feedback.

Steve,

Do the testers find and/or discuss and/or report the potential/ability growth 'phenomenon' that I mentioned/discussed in my thread? The phenomenon is that some players (late round draft in particular) had potential growth, but the ability growth never catches up with it. So, those late-round draft becomes 4/5 star prospect in the ages of 23,24,25 and then becomes 1 star scrap (because the abilities didn't progress a lot) after age 26. I have stated that my only previous OOTP experience is STB2003, so I didn't know if this "ability growth stalling/possible late-blooming" being a new thing to OOTP6 or if this has already exists in OOTP5. Since no one ever answers this question, some answers will be welcome. Thanks.

And if you have some insight in my thread topic, please post suguesstions. My thread is the "Is it hard for a player to reach his full potential?". Thanks again.
