HCBL Needs Five
We've been running for a real-time year now, and entering the Free Agent period for 2007. League turnover sucks, but it happens everywhere. There are currently five teams available: Minnesota, Oakland, Atlanta, San Diego, and San Francisco.
Check out the league site at http://hcbl.ootp-leagues.com and read the rules. It's especially important to understand the rules during free agency, since we have a detailed compensation procedure. If interested in joining, send me a PM, e-mail, or contact me on AIM. |

This is a very good league. We are currently in days 4-6 of Free Agency, and some of these available teams have lots of money to spend. These are not project teams. These are teams that have done very well in their 4 years in the league:
San Francisco: avg'd 86 wins last 4 seasons. 97 fan interest! Poor farm, but has lots of youngsters on the major league roster, including a top 3 overall SP, Jesse Foppert http://hcbl.ootp-leagues.com/p1534.html Minnesota: avg'd 91 wins last 4 seasons. Lots of young solid players, with Jason Giambi providing veteran leadership. Atlanta: avg'd 90 wins last 4 seasons. Lost Chipper, but has $35 mil for free agency and has 5 spects in top 100. Oakland: avg'd 84 wins last 4 seasons. Won 93 last year. #6 farm system. Has Vladimir Guerrero. Needs TLC. San Diego: avg'd 84 wins last 4 seasons. Only won 67 last year, but with $32 mil available for FA, can easily bounce back. Also, if you're a graphics/HTML junkie, we may need someone to update the main page in the future. As the Commish stated, check out the FA Compensation Rules. |

Are you upgrading to ootp6? or staying w/ 5?
If you guys are currently or planning on using V6.1 I'd like to try either Atlanta or SanFran. AIM = izzylin2001 conrathp_424@hotmail.com Thanks. I've been playing against OOTP since V4.0 but would like to try my luck against some real people. Thanks for the consideration |

The upgrade to OOTP6 will happen after the 2007 season is completed. So it won't be immediate, but it's a plan for the near future.

Oh, I should also mention that there was a rare bug which happened to the league. It corrupted the NYY free agent signing files, so I needed to create a ghost team for them to make their offers. That's why there's an extra team in the NL West called "Yankees Ghost," so don't be alarmed or confused by that. Once the FA period is over, it'll be back to normal.

Yes, it's your choice. When you decide, I'll e-mail the team password to you.

Spac3rat: FA deadline is tonight at 11:59 p.m. Catch the Commish on AIM tonight, also e-mail him and post on the message board. OR, I think the previous Atlanta owner's AIM was Kenny3199. If you see him, ask for it.
Funebrero: If you are buying OOTP6, then maybe something can be worked out. Otherwise, you need to own the game. Commish has final say. |

Minnesota, Oakland, Houston, San Francisco still available.
Damned OOTP6 making it harder to get people for existing OOTP5 leagues... |
