Player creation modifiers...

when creating rookies for the draft is there anyway to change the player creation modifiers to help deepen the draft?

I am doing a 5 rd draft, but after rd 2 there isn't anyone worth drafting.

This is probably my biggest beef with the OOTP series, is the fact the rookies in the draft just are deep enough.

Anyone got any good player creation modifiers for Modern era 1980+??

Thanks in advance.

well, if you're playing v6 there are editable modifiers for player creation. check your league setup

v5 doesnt have it though

i suggest you be careful how high you set it. i set most about 10-15% plus on my first draft and ended up with a 5-star CF in the early 2nd rnd.

In my first OOTP6 draft, I found a slightly disappointing pool also. I'd be interested in what modifiers would create a good level of draftees.

The talent level does seem to be variable year by year. Don't worry if it's a little light one year. If it's a little light 5-10 years in a row then I might start worrying a bit. Even then, it isn't a huge deal since the game will still produce quality major league players by talent bumps and such.

Okay guys I have been messing with this and am now in year 3. I will post what I have modified when I get home.

I do a 10 rd draft and with the #'s I am using, I am getting much better talent rds 1-6 or7.

I will post later when I get home...

Here's what I am using currently for 1980 modern era.

Batters:

Contact: 15
Gap: 8
Power: 15
Eye: 10
Strikeouts: 7

Pitchers:

Stuff: 20
Control: 20
Movement: 30
Endurance: 40

Player Speed: 18
Players Stealing: 15

With these settings and with a 10 rd draft I am getting 3 and 4 star players in the 7th and 8th rds. There are 1 and 2 star players for rd 9 and 10, so it could be tweaked a little more perhaps.

Let me know what you guys are using.

What results are you trying to get? That seems very talent-heavy.

I am trying to create more talent for a 10 rd draft.

I am still tweaking this. What are you using and what results are you seeing Kings?

Well I'm using the follow modifiers right now, to fit in with my Viking league:

Gap +10%
Power +10%
Eye - 25%
Stuff +10%
Endurance +25%
Stealing -25%

I like what I'm seeing so far. Lots of hard-hitting guys who don't walk much, exactly how I picture how Viking warriors would play baseball. I haven't done my initial stat-testing yet but the ratings seem in-line with what I'm looking for. I'm running my test sim to the draft right now. We'll see what the class looks like.

Well I ran the draft. Some info: 12 team league, 10 rounds. There were 8 guys taken in the first round that I consider legitimate future stars. It was a light draft on pitching so some subpar pitchers were drafted earlier than usual. It looked fine to me based on my league settings. That's the important thing after all is that you play around with it until you get a result that you like! I'm sure a lot of people would hate my results
