NGBL Opening: New York Yankees
The Next Generation Baseball League currently has the New York Yankees franchise available. This is a team that's had a tough run the last 5 years, that has lost a sense of it's history and former glory. SP Dave Howard, the 7th overall prospect in the NGBL, headlines a list of youngsters that are close to helping out the big club. The Yankees also have lots of cap space and with some highly talented free agents coming availiable next season, it should be an exciting challenge getting this team turned around.
Features: - 80 million dollar salary cap - 32 teams (4 divisions per league, 4 teams per division) - Equalized merchandising revenue - Restricted Free Agency system (allows for teams to bid on the services of some of the leagues top players, rather than the 35 year old dreck most are accustomed to) - 3 sims per week, one week per sim (Tu, Th, Sa mornings) - The league plans to upgrade to OOTP6 following the current season The league is littered with numerous quality owners making it great challenge for anyone who enjoys good competition. If you are looking to take an active role in turning this franchise around, email me at pallison14 (at) hotmail (dot) com, or look me up on AIM at pcallison14. A note about the NGBL:
The "Next Generation Baseball League" was formed under the concept of owners picking current teams and then simulating 10 years into the future to give the league a fictional feel, yet also preserving the MLB roots. The league has been running strong for nearly two calander years, and is now simulating the 2018 season. -paul Last edited by pallison14; 04-27-2004 at 04:56 PM. |

In a sad day for the league, NGBL has just lost an original owner and huge contributor to the league over the last year and half, Jeff Knecht. His contributions are too many to list, but anyone who takes over the Colorado Rockies will have some big shoes to fill. Jeff has lost interest in OOTP, recently returning his copy of OOTP6, and discontinuing his ownership in a league he did so much to make it a great experience for everyone.
The Colorado Rockies are on the other end of the specturm of the Yankees in that they have some of the leagues top players already in uniform. Outfielders Barry Sanjuan and Mario Cortez form a devasting R/L power combination. Infielders Anthony Robinson and James Pursur are also big contributers to the Rockies powerful offensive attack. Right handed ace Robert Townsley leads the Rockies pitching staff, but has been having problems with Coors field this season. The Rockies are a great oppurtinity for anyone who isn't interested in a long term rebuild and wants to jump right into a team where a few solid moves could put the team over the top. Hope to hear from you soon. |

Still looking for owners for these teams. We are closing in on the trade deadline, so is a good chance to get in now and start preparing for next season and the upgrade to OOTP6. Is an all adult league, has a great site, and has been running strong for almost 2 calendar years without missing a scheduled sim.
Great competition, great owners, great website, and the league runs like clockwork. What are you waiting for!!1?!? |

I'm shocked that the Rockies are still available.
It is rare you find a league with a great group of owners and a first rate commissioner that has an opening. The NGBL has all of that and more. |
