Update :)

OK, I am currently collecting the issues that are remaining in OOTP 6.01, and will start coding the 6.02 patch next week. This will put OOTP 6 in a very very stable condition (it already is, just some easy fixes are left) and wil enable me to work on the first big update

Just wanted to keep you updated!

Cheers,
Markus

Good to hear. I hope you see my thread about the postseason stat problem, because I would like to see that fixed.

Are some of those fixes ones for the minority of us who have Win98? My game will work for a while then a week later it will crash. I dont know just wondering if that will be one of the fixes?

Thanks anyway, great work.

FWIW, I'm running Win98 as well but do not have any crash problems at all after installing the 6.01 patch.

Good news, Markus! Hopefully, you were able to take a look at the rookie record book glitches.

Looking forward to the patch and the update. H2H, anyone?

Well, it is what 2 weeks since release... H2H was promised to be released 2-3 weeks after the initial release...

MR - when H2H is released sometime in June, I'd be happy to play you...

Will the Rule 5 draft crash bug be fixed?!?

Will the bug where the game crashes when you click on a player's name on the trading screen be fixed?

We are currently gathering details and doing research into correcting these issues, thanks for supplying us with details. Currently there is no release date or patch content available but stay tuned to our message board and web site for further details.

This is currently our situation, we don't have anymore detail other that this available.

just in case my prior post came off as a bit rude or whatnot...

Thank you Markus! It's great to hear you are working to make the game more stable.

I haven't used the 6.01 patch yet because of some issues with it, so I'm looking forward to this new patch, whenever it is released.

Ditto to this, I was just wondering about that bug. Thanks, Markus.

Markus, some issues to add to the wish list:

1. A number of us would like the ability to be also able to input player stats as stats, which we understand, rather than as OOTP6 ratings, which we don't totally understand.

2. A number of us would like to be able to select whether the player history or their scouting report is the default on the player's general screen. A setup toggle to select which one is the default is the preferred method.

3. A number of us would like for all dollar figures to vanish when financials are turned off. Failing that, please have a setup toggle added to set all financial values to zero and to keep them there.

4. A number of us would like to have the 40-man roster waiver rules implemented just as they exist in the MLB.

Thanks, Markus.

As suspected, when everyone was clamoring for the early release without H2H, which would supposedly be added shortly thereafter (within a couple weeks), H2H keeps getting pushed further and further to the right in order to fix bugs.

Colour me negative, but as I said previously, I can see exactly where H2H is going - down the same path as the financial co-efficient.

This is already possible (if you do some legwork with excel perhaps), using the old ootp5 engine and exporting the data to a csv file, which you can then edit and import back in to establish the ratings in game. AFAIK, converting over to the ootp6 engine afterwards does not alter the raw data, just converts them into the new format. This is alot of work, but its accurate. You could also just use an edited lahman database or statistics ingame and these too should generate meaningful ratings (albeit without the correct r/l splits usually)

As for me, I'd like to see a manual with some extent of explanation for the new pitching ratings. I believe I can extropolate what they are and what they are supposed to impact, but not without significant testing will we see how they work.

Hopefully it will also include players that are signed to major league contracts automatically being put on the 40 man roster.

Thank Markus for getting things out this quickly!

True, and some of us already know how to do that. But that's really going way around the horn, and OOTP6 should allow us to do this directly.
