Can't Afford Arbitration

I had a number of players up for arbitration and obviously didn't have enough money to sign them all so 4 of my studs were released. Fictional league by the way. Is there any way to determine whose gonna get signed? I can't think of a way to counteract this besides having enough $$$... duh... but it really sucked to see 4 of your 5-stars on the FA list at the beginning of the next season.

You sign all arb eligable players automatically. No need to release, unless you don't want to sign them; it doesn't matter if you don't have the cash.

Click on the Salary report in the front office screen. This shows who's eligible and gives an estimated amount.

I ran across something I'm still looking at. This past season I had guys that would send me an email that said "I'd like to resign". Problem is, the game said that they were "arbitration eligible" on the roster screen. If I pulled up the player salaries list from the front office screen, it showed they were free agents after this season.

I signed them and moved to next season. I'll see if it happens again, just something to keep an eye on.

I didn't release them. All these dudes were Arbitration Eligible and had the estimated amount. The AI released them for me. I never saw this in OOTP4 or 5... that's what is freaking me out.

That is odd, and shouldn't happen (unless things were changed). If this was designed to happen, imho this is a poor design idea.

possible arbitration is for Super Twos, which means the top 17% of two year players in terms of service time receive arbitration

If you have negative cash I'm 99% sure you can't sign any FA's. My guess is that with negative cash, you can't pay guys via arbitration either.

An "official" word would be nice though.
