I am trying to import an ootp4 league into the game and when I do, the players names do not show up, only boxes. The team names are all there and you can read them. I am not sure what is wrong. Can someone help me ASAP?
Thanks! [ 06-14-2002, 12:54 PM: Message edited by: Dennis Bernstein ] |

What exactly are you trying to do? Post step by step what you are doing, which version of the game you are running and other pertienent specs.
It sounds like players.dat got corrupted during the download/install. I'd suggest retrying the download. |

I am trying to load the league file from http://www.sportplanet.com/sbb/gmc/index.html and when I download it from the site, extract it to the ootp4 folder and then import the league in the game, when it finally loads, the players names are all loaded as boxes. I have tried doing this twice now and both times it did the same thing. What is the process of importing a league file once I have downloaded it from a site. I am running ootp4, which I downloaded the first day it was available.
Thanks for any help you can give! |

Get the database from here. Then make certain that you have the latest update for the game.
Your problem is that the two things you are trying to use don't work well together, it's just the differing versions. If you make sure you are using the above you should have no problems. [ 06-14-2002, 03:54 PM: Message edited by: Steve Kuffrey ]

I think Dennis is only one having problems
I think Dennis is the only one having a problem with the league file - the others can all download it and import it fine....
The only thing that is different from other leagues perhaps is the extractino process - because of the way i zip the file, owners extrct it to the root c:/ootp4 directory (where gmc./lg is a sub-directory within) and not to c:\ootp4\gmc.lg - if somebody does that it creates a sub-directory (c:\ootp4\gmc.lg\gmc.lg), which is a bad thing.... If that is the problem he just needs to "NOT" select "use original path" option, but make sure that the program is pointing to the OOTP directory.
