OOTP6 Graphics Problems

Hey,

I'm running Windows ME, with a Radeon 7200 Card, DirectX 8, and my resolution is set at 1024 x 720. OOTP 5.0 works like a charm. However, OOTP 6.0 loads as a completely black screen framed in white. I turned off both sound and 3D and I redownloaded the file. By randomly clicking on the screen, it did take me to the OOTP homepage, so I think the game is loading OK, but it's a graphics problem. At first I thought maybe I needed Directx 9 (whihc is unavailable for Windows ME). However, I've heard from other users that 8.0 should be fine. I have no idea what to do and I'd love some input.

Try updating your video card drivers, maybe changing your color depth if that doesn't help.

I downloaded the latest drivers right before OOTP 6 because of a high graphics game I purchased (just checked that they were the latest last night). I adjusted the color depth from 16bit to 32bit, but to no avail.

Well at least it sounds like I'm not the only one in the problem. I just wish I knew what it is.

get rid of me. it will always give you more problems down the road. i changed to xp. 98 is better than me.

I've heard that about ME, but haven't had too many problems with it. I've hear it about XP too. I hate to change OS though, just for one game.

Did you try upgrading to Direct X 8.1?

I've had the same issue with a Radeon 9800 (latest drivers and DX 9). I solved it by disabling DirectX 3D.

Funny.... OOTP5 never had this problem and runs fine on the same machine.

I have disabled the 3D in game configuration. I do have a Radeon 7200 and I am using Windows ME with Direct X 9. I have the latest Driver which I just installed at the end of March.

Hmmm.....

I'm running XP- might be a ME-related DX issue.....

Thanks Tigersfan. I had disabled 3D in the game configuration, but the thing that fixed it was turning off 3D in DXdiag.

How do you disable the 3d in the game config? I am having a similar problem and I can't locate the game config. I see game setup and league setup but no config.
