Post Crash at end of season

First of all I have to explain that I was doing good with two teams, so I decided to add a Washington team in Rolens rosters and use some of my AAA prospects that were getting old but couldn't fit into the starting rotation. This caused a problem because when it went to create a schedule San Francisco was left completely out of it, so I had to manually schedule games for the Giants.

At the end of the season, it begins to tell me my scores... at gives me the first score, which was like 58 or something, and then I click the close button and it "caused an illegal operation and OOTP4 will now close" pops up.

Nothing else is running in the background.
I have 128 megs of ram on a 1800 mhz pc
I've rebooted countless times, and everytime this occurs.

Any suggestions?

The game will not work with an odd number of teams in any league.

When you added Washington you created a 31st team. This is what caused the crash and also caused the schedule generator to fail. (With an odd number of teams overall at least one team must be off on each day of the season.. with an odd number of teams in each league their'd be interleague games each day, both of which would cause a crash.)

Always expand in groups of two, and always keep an even number of teams in the AL or NL. (or whatever league names you use).

Try deleting a team, the players/coaches will be dumped into the free agent pool, but the game might let you go on. Or try adding another team in the same league you added Washington too, the game might let you progress then.

Well I've played 2007 for the 4th time now and it still crashes. I have even teams on both divisions (actually the exact same number of teams between the national league and the american league). First I reset the league and added another team so I'd have even teams, and then played through. I noticed two teams were now getting no playing time so I erased the schedule and had it make me a new one, and continued playing. It of course crashed again.

Then I though maybe it needed a clean schedule from the beginning so I reset the season again, then reset the schedule right away, and played through, but it still crashes at the end.

Any more suggestions?

Exactly what point is the game crashing? Is it when you hit Proceed to next season?

How exactly is your league now set? Number of Teams, Number of Divisions, Number of Leagues.

Do all teams have players on them?

My league had 32 teams, and had players on all of them.

It crashes when it displays the scores for the three teams I control.

Are you certain that you don't have an injured SP in the rotation or a problem somewherelse in your roster?

Yeah, very sure. All of my teams made it to the playoffs and they all had their starting rotation intact, with plenty of backups. I played the season 4 times, so even if one time one of the seasons had a starting pitcher injured, it couldn't have happened every time.

To be more exact, when I get the first score that says,

"Congratulations champ, you got a score of 72 out of 100... blah blah blah"

and then at the bottom it has the close button on it, and I push it to get my other two scores for my teams... that's when it crashes.

Nope, haven't even touched the folder since I downloaded the new rosters a long time ago. The rosters worked for 6 years... until I added the new teams.

As a side note I think the next score it would give me would be one of the teams I added...

Maybe I already asked this but, how did you add the new teams(the step by step process)? How many teams do you now have? How many teams did you add at a time?

First I added just one time to the American League. It crashed at the end of the season and is why I started the thread. When I got the reply I then restarted the season and added a second American league team.

I didn't mess with the national league at all, but now that I've added the two teams (I guess I have 30 teams now) the NL west has the same # as the AL West, and the NL Cental has the same # of teams as the AL Central... etc. They all have even teams.

To fill up the rosters I just went into the setting for the teams and jacked up the income the team had, about 25 million, and then subtracted 25 million from my other two teams. I got a few free agents and then did trades to get the AAA prospects that were ready for the big leagues from my other two teams onto my new team. I then just autofilled the minors.

Did you "autofill" all minors or just those teams? How many players are in the minor leagues of most teams? Does anyone have more than 90-100?

how did you "restart" the league? hopefully from a backup.
when did you add the second AL team? hopefully before free agency and signing of coaches.
did you generate a new schedule afterwards? i advise you to use the stickware scheduling utility.

Sorry about the long reply, I had a ton of errands today.

Nah, I didn't use the backup. I went to the league options and reset the schedule that way... which resets it to opening day so I didn't have a chance to do spring training, sign coaches or free agents.

None of the minors have more than 90-100 people though. I just autofilled the two teams that I had created, not the other 28.
