Any general BOSI questions, requests, etc?

My poll sparked some interesting comments, suggestions, requests etc so I figured a thread like this would come in handy.

No guarantees I can get all requests into the first released, but it can't hurt to ask. Fire away.....

Guess I'll add the suggestion for phpNuke like ability to toggle modules, blocks, etc on and off. I know you have that in somewhat already anyways.

Possibly a way for someone to upload the league file (only people with Admin rights or whatever). Our leagues have some various people that sim and some of them aren't real comfortable with FTP programs.

That's all I can think of for now.

I would like a team totals page for each league. Doesn't have to be fancy, just a sortable spreadsheet with batting, pitching, and fielding stats at the team level.

BOSI was shelved for a couple of months when All in 1 grew faster then our wildest dreams. We just got back to this, so the progress is not very good. With the new exporter done, I am changing the importer and data structure to use the new data. Then, it's on to the reports and such.

Not to pester you about a release date but can you give us a vague estimate on how much longer it will be? A couple of friends and I are planning on starting a new league but are hesitant to do so until v2 has been released.

It's tough because this is a side project. It's got our top priority right now, but no telling when we'll get "paying work" that will pry us away.

However, we are shooting for the end of May, early June for release.

HA! As soon as the domain is pointing to your site, the Nuke issues will go away. But, between the copy from the old site, and the temporary URL, you are giving Nuke fits. Hopefully, BOSI v2 will give you an opportunity to dump Nuke. I can make you the first test install case after the beta team is done tearing it apart if you'd like

I know we discussed this before, so if already added I apologize. How about an E-Mail notifying the commish when a trade needs his approval.

Yeah, we'll have that with the owners ability to turn off e-mail notifications.

Similar to the team stat thing...

It'd be nice to see your entire roster's stats for the last sim. Different than last week or this week, using the variable you set for sim length or just a difference between two imports of BOSI.

I find myself wasting a ton of time looking at who is hot and cold and this would be way cool!!!

Yes, this version will have last sim stats at the major AND MINOR league levels! Team splits will also now extend to the minor league levels too.

Also, some improvement to the Ammy Draft utility would be cool. Many leagues I'm in don't use it anymore but I love it and try to use it.

One thing would be the ability for the admin to look at the lists. I often found some owners would put lists in, others wouldn't. THen when I went to finish the draft, I'd have to go throuhg the slow process or hitting "CPU pick" in the game, updating the BOSI and then seeing if the next team has a list. Maybe there was a way to do this.

In general, I found lots of little quirks though when you tried to look at the pool and sort and things not working (I think I saw it with free agents too).

Yeah, the amateur draft utility was a bit quirky. We'll be re-writing it from scratch for v2.

I know you've been bugged about V6 too.. but one thing that would be nice is that when you convert to OOTP6 that somehow you don't loose the historical stats and developements of players.. I know changing to a new format will be hard enough but soon we'll all be using 6 again and I know a lot of leagues love the history BOSI has enabled them

No data should be lost when upgrading to BOSI v2. There will be upgrade scripts that will allow you to upgrade your existing database to v2. There will be some delete scripts included to clean up garbage data, but they should in no way affect live data, and will be tested by the BOSI Beta Team before release.
