more rating craziness

First, please read this: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...threadid=60925

In a fictional league, I went to edit ratings. As you know, and I learned, you can now only enter the rating, not that stat you want to simulate.

Despite the fact that I've seen ratings over 150 when using the editor, you can only enter up to 150. But it gets weirder. I entered 150 for stuff and 1 for the others, turned off the editor, and turned it back on. Stuff showed as 149 - no big deal. Then I changed all 3 to 150, and the talents as well. When I turned off the editor and turned it on again, I ended up with 165/99/100.

Can anyone explain this?

Doesn’t this belong in the Troubleshooting forum?

Only if it is a problem. It sounds to me like it is, but maybe it isn't. Maybe that is the way things are supposed to work (I hope not though).

Anyway, until this is a confirmed problem or bug, I'd prefer it to stay in the discussion area. This is different than obvious bugs, because the author is just discussing OOTP6. And this is the discussion forum, isn't it?

Relax everyone, I'm just kidding because I don't see why every time someone posts a thread in some place other than the most appropriate place, people get upset. (Maybe we should rename this the "Positive Discussion about OOTP6" and the troubleshooting thread "Negative Discussion about OOTP6")

People would still post in the wrong place.

The new rating system has a number of oddities, so I thought this might be intentional. I thought it would be presumptuous to label it a bug.

I have had similar concerns - would like some advice or guidance on how one should edit player ratings if the numbers that are input different than those that actually appear. For example, I type in 50 for a given category, but the rating displays 51 (bug or not?).

Here's the link:

Bumping again....

I beginning to think that there is a problem with the player editor. I attempted to modify a pitcher's ratings and talents, and the numbers I typed in weren't even close to what appeared in the ratings.

However, that being said, I was able to make corrections for other pitchers without the weird results. The problem with the above was when I attempted to modify the ratings for the team's closer. So I'm wondering whether the problem in ratings might be related to where a pitcher is located in the staff chart.

I tried using the CSV export/import to see if that would help, but to no avail. The numbers I entered in the CSV sheet for the pitcher's talent ratings entered correctly, but the current ratings that resulted were 2 to 3 points HIGHER than the talent ratings re-imported (I had set the talent ratings and current ratings to be exactly the same).

(Note: I used the workaround with the CSV export/import function mentioned by clarnezz by adding an additional comma after every player name. I realize this will be fixed for the next patch, but I wanted to see if using the CSV function would solve my problem).

Another problem I think someone else may have mentioned is in regards to player development. In checking the player development report, a pitcher's endurance was reported to have declined to 35. However, I had earlier edited the pitcher's endurance from 22 to 35. When I checked the pitchers actual endurance rating, it was listed as 22 (Note: I edited the pitcher's endurance before I started a season).

I've seen this happen for other player ratings as well - a player development reports a decline or increase to such-and-such a number, but when checking the actual rating, it is completely different.

Note: I'm using talents/ratings from 1 - 100.

Again, any clarification or guidance in these regards is most appreciated.
