Question Moving Players From League To League

Okay, I have a question on how to move players from one league to another (e.x., From 2004.lg moving Eric Gagne to fiction.lg). I know that there is a way to do this but I just can't seem to figure it out. I went into lague setup and found the import and export roster, ratings and general stats, but everytime I do it I seem to do it wrong. If someone could tell me how to do this or if there is a program out there that can do this that would be great. I seem to remember a utility out there that does this but can't seem to remember the name. Thanks in advance!

Pierre just released a editor which you can do this. Check the Mods section.

I have Pierre's editor but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. It seems to me that you can only move teams and not players from one league to another.

You can move individual players with Pierre's Player Import Editor.
At least I know it worked with OOTP5...not sure about OOTP6. Post the question in the Mods Forum.

I don't think OOTPB has a means to move players from one league to another.

Here are the steps for OOTP5 from the Readme for the editor:

MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR LEAGUE BEFORE USING THIS EDITOR.

1) on the "copy from..." side (left side), select the league directroy that you want to copy from.
2) A list box will appear on the left side under the "from team..." name.
3) Select a team in the list box.
4) Another list box will appear with all the players on this team.
You have a choice to switch to a team or to the free agents page in OOTPB.
5) On the "copy to..." side (right side), select the league you want to copy to. A blank list box will appear under the "to...."
6) Now you have a choice to import one team at a time or any players you want. To do this, just drag and drop a team or a player from the "from team..." to the "to..." list box.
7)Then other options will appear: Option 1: Replace existing players on a team, which will take all the players in the target team and put them in the OOTPB free agents and all of the players being switched to the target team.
Option 2: add players on the team...This will keep all the existing players on the team and fill bland spots with the new players you are switching. Make sure you have free spots available if you use this option.
Option 3: Add the players in Free Agency...this will add the new players to the OOTPB free agents screen.
8)If you tookn option 1 or 2, another list box will appear asking you to select a target team. Select a team and press on the "Process Button".
If you took option 3, the process button will be enabled, just press it.

If you make a mistake before pressing on the Process button, press on the Cancel button.

You will find one team missing from each league when you try to find a team to switch players"from" and "to"...It is the last team listed in your leagues. Just change the missing team in the League Structure with one of the other teams and it will then show up. Remember to switch the teams back after importing.

Another method - for some reason, the team whose name is last alphabetically is left off. If you rename the teams, you can import both without changing your league structure.

I know this all sound complicated, but it does work.

I found that players would be transferred with their stats from the other league and foul up my league's stats. I never did find out how to keep it from doing this. I even chose an option not to transfer the stats. It was probably me and not the editor. Pierre is very good about giving advice. You might want to ask him if you have any problems.
