Signing Bonus?

I set up my solo league to use all of the new options with exception of Manager Mode and Coaches/Scouts.

I've now gone through an entire season and am halfway through the second, and I've yet to see anyone get/request a signing bonus.

When and where am I supposed to be seeing this? Ammy Draft? Free Agency? Rule V? Waivers? Resigning from my current roster?

I've picked up players from all of the above except the Rule V draft.

Am I just extraordinarily lucky that they my players haven't asked for any additional cash above and beyond the contract? Did I just miss turning on an option somewhere when I set up my league?

Or was this not yet implemented?

Oh, and one more thing. Does the cash you cough up for the signing bonus count against the salary cap?

I never even noticed the signing bonuses. It would be nice to have it everywhere, but you don't really hear much about s. b.'s in MLB, or do we?

Actually, there have been some, it's just not a lot since there is no real salary cap like in the NFL.

I've noticed them after the first season. But that's also because the guy I picked wanted the largest signing bonus of anybody (had 2nd overall pick) and 80/80 for potential to develop. I'm not sure how the other rounds work but the top few in the first definately want a bonus.

I think the signing bonus is either added to your payroll or taken from your cash immediately.

This isn't a signing bonus like the NFL. It's just an extra incentive that the player wants in order to play with you.

The reason you don't see signing bonuses for baseball free agent's is that baseball salaries are garanteed, where in football if you get cut you don't get the rest of the money on the contract. Signing bonuses are used in football to get some garanteed money.
