I'm in the same boat guys. Stuck on one day and can't get past it. In my case i tried simming the game and it crashed. After checking the League News under league injuries i found that Mussina got injured in that very game against me that was crashing. Now his name shows on the league injury list, but not in the game. Meaning he is listed as being injured in the news section but he's injured from the game that keeps crashing and actually hasn't been played yet ( the game i'm trying to sim but getting the crash). I did check the Yankees and Mussina is listed as healthly, although the league news/ injuries say otherwise and wasn't even scheduled to pitch against me that day.

I'm crashing left and right: won't play more than a few days, won't create historical league, won't even play the league that came with the game...grumble...

Same thing just happend to me using CBL's rosters. I manually played my first two games, now I click on the first pitch for my third game and it crashes.

Will this be fixed with tomorrow's patch?

Where is the thread that addresses what the patch will fix? Will it come with directions (do we have to reinstall? Start all over with a new CBL download?).

Patch didn't help here!! Started a fictional league from scratch, ran the initial draft, simmed all the FIRST day's games except for the team I'm running. Tried auto-simming the next week and the game crashed and continues to crash post-patch...errr. The injury report shows a pitcher injured in one of the simmed games for approximately 6 weeks. Any ideas?

Well I patched my version and I am still getting crashes when people are hurt. I unhurt them then it sims for awhile then when someone gets hurt it becomes non-responding and freezes. I tried a new fictional league and whammo someone gets hurt the game freezes on my sim day.

Ran a sim, things were great. First season, got to July 30th, checked on same players and noticed that their stats became screwy (ie, a pitcher who was in the rotation all year all the sudden was 9-9, 9.9 IP, 9 k's; his html report was all 2's under every category). Then went to all the other screens (schedule, standing, drop down menus, etc....) and ther were "random numbers" scattered throughout the screen.

I'm stopping until I hear more from the OOTP team--don't want to waste anymore time.

having said that, Markus, I appreciate your work and look forward to the next fix. Good luck.

I'm having the same crashing problem with 6.01. I have a new custom league with default players. I can't sim past the first day without it crashing. I have XP pro, 1.7Ghz, 384MB RAM, 7 GB free HD, Radeon 9200 with 128MB RAM, DX 9.0B. I tried with Direct 3D and sound both on and off. Never had a problem before on this machine with OOTP 5.

Why OOTP 6 crashes on You ..Please read very Important...

Here why OOTP 6 crashes on you......

i found out if you delete the default league folder called career 2004.lg that comes with the game....ootp will crash alot....

never delete that default league folder that comes with the game...its not your fault..ootp should of had a readme saying important dont delete that folder...

just unistall the game, delete ootp 6 folder and install ootp 6 again....and u will be ok...

when you create a new league...just name it to whatever you want and then its ok to delete that folder you named only..

thanks

This is only if you delete the current league folder. This is an easy fix to one crash problem. This has nothing to do with most of the crashes stated here.

Unhappy

I had a test league that I had run around 5 seasons with in version 6.00. Now with the patch installed it crashes on July 22 on the same game when simming every year and the stats go skewiff since i've installed the patch. Hopefully Markus is having a close look at this problem.

This may not fix these issues, but another reason the game may crash is if your minor league lineups have players with blank positions or multiple players at the same position.

Post Patch Blues

Steve, I went home and defraged my drive.

However, the game still does not work. Won't display the current days pitching matchups and give the option to "sim" or "play" a game or games. The program does not crash but can't play any games beyond the first week.

All the "yesterday" games have been played.

Can you tell me if another patch is in the works and if it will be out soon?

My one last effort will be to reinstall from scratch and start over.
I'm importing an OOTP historical league and playing in replay mode. My computer system is buff and I have more than enough bells and whistles to play this game.

Stumped

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I created a fictitional league to do some tests with the creation modifiers. I set everything up past the draft, have all teams on Computer controlled. I then click sim season. Sometimes the game crashes randomly during the season. Sometimes I can get through the whole season, but most of the time not. Running a P4 1.7 with 512 MB RAM. 60 GIG HD with 30 GIG free. The league I am simming with is a 2 league 16 team setup. (8 teams in each league-one division each, similar to early 1900's). I use the default schedule and haven't added any mods.

I had my first crash (or, hang really) today. Historical league with heavily edited player ratings. First year simmed without problem. Year 2, drafted new players, more editing, when I started the sim it hung. After I killed it and restarted, the teams in the first game had either a win or a loss, but the game was still listed as unplayed on the schedule. After some playing around (like, playing out the game manually), I found out it was hanging while "Simulating Minor Leagues". I disabled sim of minors and have simmed a couple months without crashing/hanging.

As an aside...I still have 4 teams who have extra wins/losses from these games that never really appeared to take place. Players also compiled stats for those games. Is there any way to "rollback" a season (and not the whole historical replay)? My last backup was before a lot of player editing so I'd like to avoid going back to it.

I have the same problem. Seeing that some people had a problem with injuries, I reset the league so there aren't any more injuries. Still crashes. The first day of the season has been simmed but I can't advance to the second day. I have a fictional league, in my 36th season, 12th since switching to OOTP6. And I've tried all of the different sim options. I don't know what to try next. Kuffrey, I can send you the league file if you want?

And I am not using 40 man rosters, waivers or rule 5 draft either.
