Runner doubled up; left on base

The situation:

Runner @ 1st, not outs..
According to the PbP, a line drive was hit back to the pitcher, who caught it and threw it to 1st for the DP. The outs were recorded but the runner was allowed to remain at first. The game log for the inning is below.

Batting: Santa Fe, bottom of 6th.

Pitching: Pedro Barrientos
RF Gerald Freeman:
SINGLES to shallow left-center.
New pitcher: Javy Machado.
SS Daniel Davis:
Lines into double play, 1-3!
CF Anthony Mitton:
SINGLES down the right field line.
G. Freeman to second.
Freeman tries to advance to third...
He reaches third base safely without a throw.
LF Augusto Colon:
Strikes out looking.
