60 day IR/ Roster bug?

Current problem I'm faced with. My starting CF in my fictional league breaks his foot out for 8 weeks. Upon his healing he some how has lost his spot on the 40 man active roster( not a move I made).
The problem is my only option is to release him and eat 17M signing bonus

Inactive roster move to try to drag to 40 man roster from I/R list and won't accept a demotion to minors!
Is this bug related or am I missing something?

This is a known problem.

Argg, the transaction interface is riddled with problems like this. Very anoying.

I've got the same problem with my ace pitcher in my league. Exact same problem. Lost his 40 man roster spot. Tried to put him on waivers, and then put him on the 40 man roster. That didn't work. And now he's stuck, and I'm NOT eating his 20 million bucks. Just not doing it.
