All time Roster set for OOTP4

I am closing in on completing an all-time roster set for OOTP4.

Thanks to Roster Development Group for some of the raw data. The database that I have created is a hybrid of Lahman and Roster Development Group. I have takem the roster of players and the team alignment from roster development and supplemented it with lahman data for each player.

For an idea of the players that will be in the league and the team alignment, you can go to the following page:

www.rosterdevelopmentgroup.com

I am hoping to have it completed in the next 2-3 weeks and will post a message here when it is completed. When it is done, I will have the file hosted on my website:

Well, in two simple words...

IT'S DONE!!

The all time rosters for OOTP4 are now available on my website (see link in my signature).

There are 26 teams (7 AL east, 7 AL west, 6 NL east, 6 AL west).

There were 27 teams imported (one team full of players from the last 4 expansion teams - Tampa, Colorado, Florida, Arizona) but the game will not allow an eneven number of teams in two divisions, so I took all the players from those expansion teams and placed them as free agents. This will allow some roster flexibility for future transactions.

The roster is based on the initial team rosters provided by Roster Development Group and supplemented with average career statistics from Lahman 5.1.

Enjoy!

Very cool to see you still devoted to OOTP4. I'm sure the rosters are great, but unfortunately I don't have OOTP4 on my system anymore, so I won't be able to check them out

Well, it looks like you put a lot of work into this. I do have a couple of questions for.

Did you try the league with the ERA settings you have there?

In looking through the Atlanta franchise I noticed that Aaron was not present. Is this an oversite or did he not make your cut?

Thanks for the time and effort you placed here, it is difficult to find OOTP4 related items these days.

I have tried the league and this league follows the golden rule:

Good pitching will always beat god hitting.

The pitching is strong and the game scores are fairly low (2-1, 5-4, 4-2).

Since the players average career stats are used, it makes the case for players that may have had one strong year (like a Barry Bonds 73 home runs) and smoothes out the spikes.

I will look into the Aaron issue. I was certain that he was included in my database, when I get an answer, I will let you know as well as post an updated roster set if any changes are made.

Thanks for the feedback. It helps make the product better.

For whatever reason, Aaron was in my databse but did not import into the league file.

I have imported Aaron and re-uploaded the new rosters on my website.

Enjoy!!

Thank you for the quick response.

I asked about the ERA settings as I really didn't want to go through many seasons in replay mode to find the correct settings, I was hoping you had done that already (I know I am being lazy).

I am going to download the updated files tonight. Did I say thanks? well thanks.
