Promoting/Demoting players

I'm playing on a online-league and I have just recently promoted a player to the AAA.
My scout says he needs more double-A playing time, but he has only played a game and had an ERA of 1.08 with 8.1 IP.
Shoul I trust my scout and demote him or should I keep him in the AAA?

You might want to keep him in AAA for another week or so to see if his stats start confirming your scout's assessment.

My approach generally is to listen to my scout, especially if his abilities are "excellent" or better. That's what I'm paying him for.

Your scout will also tell you when a player may be ready to take the next step. I've got into the habit of checking each week the minor league report available through the transactions screen to get my scout's view on any players needing to be promoted or demoted.

I've had a scout in my current Red Sox dynasty, whose ratings are "outstanding" and "excellent", give me some curious advice, though. Twice, he's encouraged me to give guys a shot at the bigs from AAA. But both times, the players ratings/talent levels were pretty horrible. Both times, they were 1-star players, who had less-than-stellar stats at the minor league level as further proof their likely not very good... Needless to say I won't bring them up unless I'm in a real bind in those positions...
