Before I download...

I'm about to download the game.Are all patches as of this date up to date in the main file or do I need to go and down the patches also?

I believe the main download file includes all the updates in the patch so you can just download that one file and your good to go.

To make sure, when you run the program I think the flashscreen that pops up should have something like version 4.0a, or something like that. I don't have the game with me (at work), so I can't confirm this.

You are correct, it should say v4.0a.
