Game keeps crashing

I just bought the game Sunday and immediately upgraded to version 1.02. I start a new career with an OOTP5 import. Before I do this, I make sure that I am not in manager mode in OOTP5 and that all teams are set to CPU control. I am able to create my character just fine, go through the draft, then I sim through my first week and on that Sunday I get a crash saying Windows XP has encountered an error and the game shuts down. I have XP Pro edition, 2.2 gig processor, 512ram, DX9, geforce 4 card (i think). Am I doing anything wrong?

How much free HD space do you have?

about 80 gig.

I've never heard of having this problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game and see if that helps.

I unistalled and reinstalled and I got the same result. So I went in and began a career without importing an OOTP5 league and I don't get the error any longer, but I would love to play with the real players. For me, the game wouldn't be nearly as fun without the real players.... I really wanted to come up and take some existing players job. And plus I was drafted by my beloved Dodgers in the first round and I so wanted to come in and take CF from that loser Dave Roberts

...... Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Try a different "real players" roster.
