Post *Corrected Lahman 4.5 Database available from BigCityBaseball*

Here's what it corrects:

Pitcher import stat bug (I think I got all of these, let me know if I missed any): Pitchers stats will no longer be doubled if they pitched for more than one team in a season.

Missing Player Biographical Data: Players who debuted from 1998-2001, will now have the correct biographical information.

Incorrect birthdays: Some players (most notably those born in May and debuting in 1999) had birthdays that were incorrect, I corrected those that I saw, taking the birthdate cited by the most sources.

Its should be all set to go with OOTP4, if it isn't for whatever reason, let me know and I'll try to figure out if its something I introduced, or if its a problem with the game.

Thanks

Scott

Question

Scott,

I don't see the file at BCB. Should I look harder, or hasn't it been posted yet by Henry?

Thanks for all of your hard work on this, I know how time consuming and eye-straining it can be.

Any chance of yourself or Iatric (or anyone for that matter) making an adjusted fielding file so that position players will import with proper fielding averages and at the right position?

Under the current system you get things like Frank Chance being an outfielder, Jimmy Foxx importing as a catcher or Brooks Robinson having a fielding percentage of around .850 at third base.

I believe all that would need to be done is to change the players rookie year primary position and fielding average to his career average. I say 'all that has to be done' but I realize it would be quite an undertaking.

The fielding will properly display each position a player has played in their career with the position they played most as their primary position.

The only caveat is that all players import with an E running speed rating. Iatric has the file, but his preliminary look did not reveal any abnormalties.

Please note, these files are only to be used to import rookies in an historic league as only a player's rookie year is included.

You can grab the fielding file (and the others) here:

ScottVib did you also fix the problem of pitchers from 1871(not sure on other years) haveing no pitching stats at all?

I'm working on a 1871 league and had to import the pitchers from the V4 database so they would have any rateing as a pitcher.

BasicGuy,

The problem with importing pitchers from 1871 to 1875 is that the Lahman 4.5 database does not have any pitching stats for these years.

ScottVib,

I already have a file that has the stats for these years. Just let me know if your need them; all you would have to do is insert them at the begining of your file.

Markmeister If what your saying Is true(and I'm not doupting you). I'd say they made a mistake some where since they were included In the V4 database.

Markus or Steve should be able to contact them since they brought Sean Lahman on as a Creative Consultant.

Or at a min maybe someone can release a fixed version for those of us that are replaying those years.

I've made It by just importing the Pitchers from V4 and Position players from V4.5

Basic Guy, Mark is telling you true the data is missing from the database. Mark PM me I'll give you the address you can send the files too and I'll add them into the database.
