Does anyone really not care when OOTP6 comes out?
With all the people anxiously anticipating OOTP6 and running rampid for it's release, I was just curious if anyone was like me and really doesn't care. I have preordered and all that, of course I am looking forward to the game, but havn't found myself waking up every morning and aching for the game to arrive. Just wondered if my feelings are an isolated incident or if anyone else could really care less if the game came out tomorrow or two weeks from now.

I'm in the middle of a solo season and want to wait until it's over to upgrade, plus I have very little free time available for the next few weeks, so it doesn't much matter to me when it comes out. I'd like for it to be by May, but I'll be happy to get it whenever. It's nice knowing it's already paid for, though.

I would love for it to by April 2nd, when my spring break starts. Anything before then would distract me from my tennis and school work... well just tennis probably, i dont do any work outside of school

I'm in no hurry. just like every other game out there, I know I'll get my enjoyment out of it someday.

I pre-ordered to save a bit of money. I won't start getting annoyed unless it's the end of April and we get the 'won't be released until it's ready' answer. Meanwhile, I have plenty of other things to do rather than start complaining about it not being released even though it is a week before opening day and no mention was ever made of it being released before then.

Gamewise, I'm currently playing SAAP, Premier Manager, CM4, OOTP5, Galactic Civilization, and Steel Panthers.....I think I have enough gaming to keep me busy until OOTP6 arrives...makes me wonder about those who bitch moan and groan about the release date.... besides being occupied with a "life", isn't there a single game out there to keep you busy until OOTP6?

Re:
#1) Complaining about OOTP6 being late implies by definition an appreciation for previous versions of the game, otherwise said individuals wouldn't care.
#2) Can anyone seriously tell me that they wouldn't prefer the game be out now rather than some time in the future? |

Don't care. I'm not going to spend a lot of time with it until May anyway. I just don't want it to be available before it has been fully tested and found to be ready.

If a poster who has never had a prior edition of OOTP complains about OOTP6 being late, what does that imply? 2. That's a silly question. I would prefer that it was out a month ago, but no one from OOTP ever suggested that it would be. They haven't missed any stated release date, as vague as some might consider it to be. I would also prefer that J.K. Rowling released volume six of her series now so that my kids and I could enjoy reading it, but she never stated it would be out now. As an aside, I checked out your website - you are definitely a good writer but you seem to be very angry about many subjects. There are many hints in your articles that you are intolerant of those with different beliefs (Jewish leaders, blacks, gays, Liberals, to name some). I mention this only because it makes the anger that shows in your posts on the other thread much more understandable.

Re:
#1) You're arguing semantics. The only reason to be frustrated with an April release is if you were looking forward to playing the game. And if you're referring to me with that next comment, you're embarassing yourself because I have repeatedly stated that I have owned and owned previous OOTP games. For those who haven't, complaining about it being late would just mean that they expect better.
#2) Of course it's a silly question. It's meant to show just how silly it is for people to criticize those who are frustrated with the game's still undefined release. And regarding my "anger," I'm not the one engaging in childish insults. I'm on the receiving end of them and yet haven't reciprocated in kind. And I'd need to see some justification on your part for calling me intolerant. I've lived with Jews, blacks, gays, and liberals; so I'm not intolerant of anyone. What I object to is when minority or majority groups bully others into compliance. I find such behavior abhorent, one reason I've wasted much of today arguing my points to an unreceptive audience. I saw a number of OOTP loyalists viciously attacking anyone who dares criticizing the developers, and it only made me more intent on making my points. I think it's more comfortable for you to see people who disagree with you in a certain way, regardless of the truth. |

I don't really care. Yeah, I'd like to know more, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't especially bother me that they aren't giving a whole bunch of details...

I really want it, but I can see where you're coming from. I don't wake up at night with cold sweats thinking about the game or anything.

I'm from Scotland, and was particularly disgusted by some of the things you had to say about Europe. The one that really gets me is that you wish to attack critiscise people for racism, yet you seem to be condoning it in your very own words with your intolerance of others beliefs? Do you live in the UK? Do you actually know or have any experience of asylum seekers in the UK? Do you have any personal first-hand knowledge of exactly what feelings and sentiments are ocurring in the UK, or the rest of Europe? Oh, and I find it more than a little offensive that you feel the right to tar everyone with the same brush, by simply labelling someone as European and autmatically assuming that they all feel the same way about things. Here's something..... Quote:

Here's a fact....we all came on to this Earth in the same way....we're all made out of the same components.....try some tolerance, and some understanding, it'll make you a better person. Sorry for dragging that off topic. Anyway, personally, I've been playing OOTP since it's third incarnation, and love the game more than any other to be honest. Waiting with baited breath? Can't live my life properly for being anxious about it's release? Nope.....I still have OOTP5 and still enjoy playing it........got quite a few other games to play as well, so I think I can live with myself for the time being

I dont care too much. I did have an urge to start a modern solo league today but didnt want to do it since I understand the OOTP6 doesn't have such drastic aging effects.
April 2nd would work well me too. |

I'm too busy re-editing pics to play any game much.
I just hope when it is released, Markus will have implemented more graphics options. |

Re:
taffarel:
Where do I condone racism on my website? In contrast I can point you to numerous articles available from the BBC and others about rising crimes against minority groups in the UK and elsewhere. Those things still happen in the U.S. as well, but our rate has been declining for some time. Obviously not all Europeans feel the same way, but you can't attribute anything to all Europeans anymore than you can attribute anything to all Americans. When you say Europeans or Americans think or do something, that means either a majority or a sizeable portion do. You cannot deny the facts I presented. France has passed a law banning the head-scarf, Holland has passed legislation to expel asylum seekers, and crime against minority groups has risen dramatically throughout Europe. As for why there are anti-immigration sentiments in Europe, much of that has to do with people from outside the country draining the nation's resources by gaining access to your social services without putting money into the system. That problem was even greater back when anyone within the Commonwealth could pass into Britain and demand benefits. There is also sentiment in Britain and other parts of Europe that immigrants are responsible for rising crime rates. Satisfied? So yes, I'm familiar with the public opinion. Not only do I regularly read British newspapers online, but I was in Scotland just last summer. Regarding your aside, xenophobia does not mean fear of everything foreign, just of some things foreign. You don't even deny the anti-immigrant movement in your country or others in Europe, and your papers testify to an increase in racist and anti-Semitic activities. Since the thread is hijacked already, AKOleander, what did you think of ESPN College Basketball? The local Blockbuster didn't have it for rent and I didn't hear enough good things about the game to buy it, but some sounded pretty interesting. clarnzz: Forgive me, but I think you're lying. I have a hard time believing that any self-professed fan of the OOTP series really wouldn't prefer to have it in hand than not, even if you still choose not to play it right away. I am very hard pressed to believe you wouldn't at least want the option. |

I can honestly say that I don't really care that much. I'm playing lots of FBCB, and I've got an FOF2K4 career I'd like to get back to. I'll interrupt whichever I'm playing at the time to put OOTP through the paces (and give Markus my "suggestions.
), but as stated elsewhere, I probably won't start a serious career until after the first patch anyway. I don't think I've ever started a serious career until after the first patch of *any* game, for that matter.
