Rating fighters ourselves... Lets do it!!!
OK, until Jim comes up with something for us, I am gonna re-rate the active fighters myself, put them in their prime and retire them. I just cannot wait any longer to get my universe going. I went ahead and took the already PRIME fighters and changed them to retired with little or no change on their ratings. Now I am using my opinion and judgement to age or reverse age the others before putting them into RETIRED. It would be really cool if some other guys around here got into this with me and showed your particular rating changes on this thread. Here are two examples of my changes:
Andrew Golota: from post-prime to prime CB: 8 CS: 9 HP:10 CKD: 2 CKO: 2 Rec: 2 R2C: 3 AP: 2 KI: 8 AGG: 8 END:8 DEF:2 FS:1 FoR: 3 DP: 5 Con: 3 Int: 4 Pro: 10 FI: 3 FO: 2 CU:1 GFKO:3 Clinching: 71 Style: Slugger Fouls: Frequent 2pt 3pt --------------------------- Jabs: 20 / 2 Hooks: 12 / 8 Crosses:10 / 11 Combo: 10 / 7 Uppercuts:12 / 8 --------------------------- Punch:38 CP:36 PM:60 Overall: 8 Ray Mercer from End to Prime CB:8 CS:10 HP:10 CKD:2 CKO:1 Rec:2 R2C:1 AP:2 KI:8 Agg:8 End:8 Def:2 FS:2 FoR:3 DP:4 Cond:3 Int:8 Pro:10 FI:4 FO:1 CU:1 GFKO:2 Clinch:70 Style:Slugger Fouls:Occasionally 2pt 3pt --------------------------- Jabs: 12 / 2 Hooks: 21 / 12 Crosses: 15 / 6 Combo: 13 / 3 Uppercuts: 12 / 4 ---------------------------- Punching:36 CP:34 PM:63 Overall:8 I also did Maskaev, Jones Jr. and Toney, which I will post later if anyone is interested. I am waiting for feedback and other ideas before I do the others. Please be brutally honest. Tell me if these ratings are somewhat accurate or completely off. I want to do this as realistic as possible and for now I will concentrate only on the HW's. Thanks guys.

It'd be easier if you exported them, so anyone who wants them can just download them.

Why not export a CSV file off the whole data base, import it then into Excel and set up some formulas to do the conversions. Once you set up to do one fighter then copy the formulas to all of the active fighters.
I was thinking about doing this with the parameters that Cube had posted on an earlier thread as I thought I read some comments that those coversions where thought to be more accurate at least as a starting point then what there is in that new data file they posted with all the active figthers converted or using that new option available in version 1.3. One thing I have noticed about fighter ratings in the game that the Trunzo's have rated over the years is that the actual ratings of the individual boxers (CF,HP,Def,PL,etc.)don't change much or even at all. Most of time the only change I have seen is a change in thier status such as pre-prime,prime,post- prime and end. I think they just change the status and let the game make the behind the scenes adjustments to the fighters ratings. I changed all of my active fighters in the game to retired and prime and only tweaked a small precentage of the fighters ratings.

I like this Idea because People who are like badguy, (More into the active fighters) Can help people like Me Who are more into the 70's fighters and People like vista can help another person, and ect. Its a great idea everyone should post, or attach the fighters from a era that they know more about, Im going to start with guys I know from the 70's since thats the era I like the Most.

Well, you're kinda right Erick. Im not "more into the active fighters" because I think they are swell fighters. Most of them (the HW's anyway) suck!! I am alot more interested in the 60's - 90's era. But as far as TBCB goes, I do spend alot of time talking about the active fighters simply because I want to rate them back to their prime. The reason I want to do this is of course because in MY universe... I want ALL fighters involved, nut just the retired guys. I want to have everyone retired and in their prime condition before I get my universe going. I thought with this thread, some of the guys might send in their ideas on certain fighters and how they should be rated.

The HP for Mercer seems too high, and I would probably lower the punches connected and fighting outside strategy for Golota. Guinn seems a little too good for what he's accomplished so far, but you aknowledged your leaning on that subject. The rest looks good to me.
I assume Jones Jr. and Toney will be excellent, but Maskaev had to be a tough one. Will be interesting to see ...

I agree with you 100% that there is no behind the scenes adjustment for active fighters. That is why I set all my active fighters to retired first and then I can use the career stages. I was just trying to say the more consistent boxers over a 10 to 20 year career that I have seen very little change in thier ratings from when they were rated as active and then a prime retied card. |

Here is what I did with my active fighters. Changed all the active fighters to retired and prime. The fighters that were allready at prime I left thier ratings alone. Fighters at post-prime, I changed thier PL/CP +2 and in some cases thier KD,(AP if rated a 3 or higher) and KO reduced them by 1. For the guys at end, changed thier PL/CP +2 and Defense -2 (unless he just has no defense in which case I left his defense alone) and changed thier KO.KD,Rec,and AP ratings if they didn't get TKO'd or KO'd alot untill the end of thier career.
