Talent's seem to drop a lot

Maybe it's just me, but from what I can tell since our online league has used OOTP5 (2 seasons now) the starting pitchers duration ratings seem to drop fast, and I've also noticed fielder's ranges dropping a lot too. Is there something owners to to make this happen or is it just the game? Like if an owner is leaving his starter out there too long a lot does that drop his duration? There have been a number of stud pitchers go from an A to B and even to a C all in the same season. I was just hoping someone could clue me in on how to try and stop this from happening so much.

Are you using scouts in this league?

I will tell you it is probably just a case of bad luck. 2 seasons is not enough to say it is happening to all the pitchers.
