I am not a huge fan of solo play. I love the game but just find the AI to be very weak. I do put rules on how I can play (with trades, etc..) but even that does not help it much. I prefer the on-line leagues, as winning against 28-31 other owners is always a great feeling. But here is my list anyway:

Solo (Real): Montreal Expos = I use the solo play (v4) to adjust to the system and try things out that I might want to use in on-line play.

On-line (Real): All Listed Below.

I am not much for fictional players, and a large part of that is because I just do not have the time to start learning all of them. As someone with a solid baseball knowledge, the historical (or current) leagues lets me play without having to do research on every single lineup change, etc..

And if you are looking for a league to join, I would suggest any of the ones that I am in. I can not tell you much about the CDL since I do not start (Expansion Mariners) until next season, but the others I would think are a solid choice to get started in. Maelstrom being for only the serious (and talented) player.
