The Negative side of the Clarett ruling

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns

These high scholl players better be REALLY good, or have something solid to fall back on.

Hold on a second, I missed the positive side of the Clarett ruling? (at least from a fan's perspective)

I'd say a guy as physically prepared with a good set of skills like Mike Williams is ready. Maurice Clarett I was never sold on.

It would be nice if they listed some things about these guys (i.e. Height, Weight....stats dare I say )

The article said none of those guys were highly rated recruits. They are gonna get rocked, I don't care if they are allowed to enter or not, any 18 year old that thinks they can play in the NFL is flat out stupid.

Right, and its not your business to make that judgement. IF I was 18, and facing the possibility of making at least the rookie min, I would damn well take it, and worry about school later. We'll see if an 18 year old can make it- but in either case, its their choice to test their skills and a personnel directors' job to determine it.

It's all in the hand of the personnel directors, as it should be. If they think the kid is ready then by all means let an 18 year old play in the NFL. Chances are slim-to-none that many make it. We might see one occassionally playing backup or special teams while they really develop in size, strength and understanding of the game but nobody is going to be starting anytime soon and making an impact. Williams seems like he'll be the exception rather than the rule.

These high school kids lose their college eligibilty if they enter the draft, right? If so, then these kids are getting bad, bad advice from someone. Considering that NFL teams barely give division II and III college football players a look, these high schools kids have pretty much zero chance at making it in the NFL, and now, they can't even get the free college education.

They better not sign agents, because if they do and they're undrafted, no more football for them.

There is no doubt that it's not my choice or anyone elses for that matter to deny them a right to earn a living. However if I was in their position I wouldn't be so naive to think I could stand a chance my first few years. High school to College is a huge jump in itself but College to NFL is even bigger, players need atleast 2 seasons of College ball, I just don't get what these guys are possibly thinking.

It looks like most of these kids are doing it as a joke, I don't think they are serious from the looks of it. Three of them weren't even on their HS team, one is listed from a fake school, and another listed from a school for the developmentally disabled
