Found a site with some actual pics of Petco Park

Apparently, they held a season-ticket-holder open house over the weekend, and somebody posted his pix...this might be a useful resource for park-makers:

Thank you - I had been looking and not finding anything helpful on the Padres site or at HOK. These look great!

Petco looks absolutely beautiful in left field. Right field and right-center is anything write home about though. Hopefully my friend and I will still get the chance to get down there for one of the Giants/Pads game in July

I was wondering what the purpose of that little section of seats jutting out by the RF foul pole at Petco could possibly be. Parks in the old days had quirky dimensions by neccessity - to fit into the surrounding neighborhoods. Making something weird like this just to be quirky is ridiculous - but then again this is a park named after a Pet Food store.

Just to have something people know there park by. Thats going to be crazy to play defense in right field.

The park was designed before they got sold the name to the pet food store. I remember George W. Bush, when he owned the Rangers, telling the architects to keep putting nooks and crannies into the Ballpark in Arlington. Was this a baseball stadium or an English muffin?

By the way, whatever happened to that guy? I heard he wanted to be Commissioner of Baseball. He should have gotten that job.

I don't know but that would be a great place to put photographers.

Kids entertainment zone and theater are located in right field.
That must be it.

What Was I Thinking?

I have to apologize for my critical comments about the right field protrusion in Petco Field and my comment about the park's namesake. I, of course, root for a baseball team that plays on a plastic rug on top of cement in the world's biggest circus tent. I would kill to have a field like Petco here in Minneapolis. For all I care, they could even call it Frothing Sloth Park and I'd still think it was perfect.

Congrats to San Diego fans on their gorgeous new stadium. I hope to have a image of it completed next week for use in OOTP. By the way - I'm hoping OOTP6 will still use the 640 x 480 ballpark images. Does anybody know for sure?
