Phanatix, you can copy all of the ".dat" files into the "create" folder and generate your leagues that way.

I've done that before. If you have a file, and you use it last (when you exit OOTP it saves), then rename it ... when you go back and "continue league" it doesn't have the file it's looking for anymore, and it crashes.

There might be an easier way to fix it, but here's what I did.

1. On the start up screen, instead of continuing league; I created a standard league, the fastest way (ie. no draft).

2. Then once that started, I selected "open league" from the file tab, and chose the one that I renamed.

3. Then I exited OOTP, and deleted the dummy league I created.

4. Then when I went back to OOTP, I could choose continue league, since now it's looking for the right file.

Phan,

Yes, Barry Bonds has been that dominant the past three years! Truly eye-popping ratings!! (Remember, ratings are based on 3 year averages: 2001, 2002, 2003--- and splits are adjusted accordingly.)

Version 1.2 has all REAL MLB salaries toned down to 70% of their "actual" value. If a player makes 10 million per year in MLB, he will make 7 million in my version.

As real life signings happen (D. Lee extension, K Wood extension) Ive updated this to Version 1.3.

Version 1.3 will feature in addition to 1.2:
* ALL 975+ Prospects in John Sickels "Baseball Prospect Book 2004"
* Final tweaks of talent levels; make sure they "feel" right.
* Add non-roster invitees (This is currently "last" on the to-do list; this may or may not be added per time restraints. I will however add the few that have a good shot of making teams ie the Royce Clayton's out there...)

You need to hire a scout.

CBL -- When do you expect v1.3 to come out? I'm on the verge of kicking off a Career league and those Prospect inclusions would be excellent.

Also -- One of the posts mentioned to place the .dat files in the Create directory. I've seen this mentioned before....how does this "create" folder work?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry - One more question: If I use the CBL-Cardinals roster set, but draft those players in to a league with only 18 teams, I can imagine that the end results of the stats will be skewed somewhat due to the talent pool being compressed.

Should I (or do I need to) adjust the "League Totals" under "Advanced Setup" since I am drafting into a league with less teams? I wasn't sure how those "League Totals" factored in.

(For example: Will individual players hit 30/18 as many home runs if I don't adjust the numbers down by a factor of 18/30?)

I'm guessing not, but wanted to make sure.

By putting the .dat files in the Create folder any new leagues you create with default players and records and such will take their information from the Create directory.

I'm loookin over v1.2 set, and I'm going to be TB in a league that's starting with 04 rosters, and probably this one.

I don't want to be biased, and aside from that, I do think a few things could be changed(looked at atleast).

I think Baldelli's talents aren't as good as they should be. He's got the GGBAFA. I honestly think he should be a 5*. He had a very good year last year not just in my eyes, but the eyes of alot of people. I also think Hamilton and Brazelton should have better talents. I know Hamilton hasn't come up like he was sapossed to be, but his potentiol is still there, as well as Brazelton(G in AR, I think).

Hey fellas,

Quick update:

I am on page 204 in John Sickel's Baseball Prospect Book (Specifically, Clint King !). The Prospects span through page 370

I hope to keep the March 15th date as a target for release; but will know more this weekend. Try to finish A LOT of the work the next few nights.... I'll keep everyone updated in the next few days!

Hamilton is a head case, and probably will never live up to potential. If Hamilton is anything more that a 3.5 than he's overrated.

One thing I just noticed -- BH Kim is listed of having pitched in 12 games in 2003, with 56 starts -- it looks like the numbers got switched.

Milton Bradley is a headcase, shall we punish him as well?...Barry Bonds is on roids, shall we punish him?

But those two guys already play in the majors while the guy you were suggesting can't get out of single A. Your trying to justify a higher rating for someone who has been in A ball for 3 years. Sorry, I don't know why your taking it so personally. Close relationship with Josh?

Cards I'm in the same league as UD, and was wondering what you are thinking with these ratings. I mean Andres Blanco (19 yr. old SS in KC) is rated E in Bunt for Hit ?? Clearly Andres should be rated a C in that area.

I don't wanna start a thing here; but I think we ought not be so picky about individual players in this. I mean, I am sure every person has a guy that "should be rated higher", and if we all start posting about it ... well; my thought is let's just not eh ?! I've had a chance to look over the set, and think you've done a great job.

Appreciate the hard work I do.

Agreed. If someone has an issue with it, there is an editor button. If you don't know where it is, ask Mike Fitterer.

Nothing personal, just stating what I thought. No biggie...

Even if they're ML ready, what's your point? Bradley is a definate headcase an had been benched numerous times last year for his antics. Bonds and company are on roids, they're juiced up...reguardless if they're ML ready or not, they're headcases and steroid users, they should have something altered.

I don't recall Hamilton beeing in single A for 3 years, I'm pretty sure I've seen him in AA & AAA quite a few times in those 3 years.
