Philadelphia Athletics 1901-1913

Im playing manager mode and still going at it with the same team. Out of these 14 yrs the Athletics have won 4 Championship titles. Nap Lajoie is absolutely a stud. He has won 6 "MVP" awards, batted over .400 2 yrs, won the slick fielder award at 2B every year he played it then won it at SS for the past 4 yrs. Atlhetics were lucky to have a bad year in 1903 and drafted Ty Cobb in the 1904 ammy draft. They also traded for Tris Speaker. So this team is full of stars, but they are getting old. Cobb wants way to much money, but did sign him to a 18.5 mill contract for 6 yrs. He will be 33 when his contract ends. Speaker is still in his prime about 25 or 26 now.

Not in front of my game now so this is all by memory. Looking forward to continuing the sims.

In 1908 I changed it to a 2 team playoff, the top 2 teams in each division had a 7 game playoff. Also, i like to see more power so I changed the era to second one, the one after the "deadball era". Still not a lot of HR's but the leader now has like 19-22 HR's instead of 10. So thats nice to see.

Im thinking of changing the Outstanding Offensive Player name to the "Nap Award" of course after he retires.
