do you guys out their just have superior video cards and/or monitors, because I have not seen one complaint about the size of the font in the game (like when you look at your teams roster and stats). Does your ootp4 version have the same size font as your ootp3 version did? The setup said the game is made for 1024x768, and my computer is setup for 800x600 (like I thought most computers are set up for). Is my computer/monitor that out of date? Any comments would be helpful.
Thanks alot guys, KC P.S. Everything else about the game is great I just want to see IT better.

Many computers now are built for 1024x768 resolution or higher. There are several games out there now that require the higher resolution and this trend is only going to continue.

kcork51,
Yep... just out of interest, I switched from 1024x768 to 80x 600 and immediately saw some font issues. OOTP4 has never "directly" supported 800x600 for a number fo reason at various places on this board - so an upgrade, if possible, would certainly fix the issue. ![]() [ March 01, 2002: Message edited by: Henry ]</p> |

I'd be really surprised if you could not get your video card to display 1024x768. Almost every video card I've bought since Windows 3.1 came out could do at least 1024x768 16-colors and anything I've bought since Windows 95 was abot to do 1024x768 and thousands of colors. (And I've bought A LOT of video cards!)
To see if you can go with a higher setting, right click on your desktop and choose Properties from the pop-up menu or go into control panel and choose Settings from the Display Properites dialog box that appears. There will be a slider labelled screen resolution that will allow you to change your resolution. You can slide it to the right for higher resolution. If it is already all the way right, then you are stuck with 800x600. Once you make the change, click the Apply button. Windows is pretty good about testing the setting. So, if you make the change and your screen goes black permanently (it is common for your screen to flicker a few times when you're changing resolutions), Windows will revert back to the old setting in 15 seconds. If it works, Windows will ask you if you want to keep the new setting. Simply say "Yes" and your good to go. Now, if this doesn't work, if you can't do anything higher than 800x600, I'd really consider buying a new video card. You can get a decent one (not top of the line but good) for less than $50. So, for the price of a new game, you can really enhance your game playing experience. Bob
