Somehow I always seem to be around these FOBL v. "our poor little league" battles and yet not directly responsible.
![]() The ORB was a huge mistake that I believe was corrected by Recte as soon as he was made aware. A riot on the ORB board "helped" the general owner-base become aware... The tMBU is also a huge mistake that I am willing to help JSB get a new webpage up ASAP. There was also a FOBL riot in regards to this that was exacerbated by a prior relationship between oakjefferson and the FOBL. Oak had nothing to do with the tMBU homepage. You can say he "should have" as a co-commish, but he did not know where JSB got the homepage from. (damn, me defending Oak - what is this world coming to ).The MBBA is different. As Simms as already stated, Travis (Commish of MBBA) worked with him well in advance of putting up the new design. He told us all he really liked the FOBL design and was going to contact the Commish there. I applaud Simms for working with him and urge all Commishes to follow this example of working together by Travis and Simms. Wrongs have been done. IMO taking homepage code w/o permission is no different than plagiarism. However, the short-sighted actions of a couple commishes does not seem to justify the FOBL attacking every member of said league and disrupting the league as a whole.

Jesus - I was just kidding about the three-legged pig.
Your story was poignant and tender nonetheless. Regardless...don't send me anymore PMs. |

Once again, however, I will agree with you that the pile-on methods are often over the top. I may disagree with our methods sometimes, but some sort of action is essential. Quote:

In honor of Mardi Gras, I would like to extend an invitation to the entire OOTP community to stop on by the FOBL for some festive upside down margarita enemas to help take the edge off of any bruised feelings the past couple days events may have caused.

Travis also contacted me in reference to using elements from the USBA as well. I commend him for putting together a damn nice web page and for having the class others lack in asking for consent beforehand.

This all could have been avoided if our Commish wasn't Canadian.

He's a talented Canadian, though. Sort of like Michael J. Fox, or one of those organ grinder monkeys. |

Wow. You stay home sick from work one day and browse the OOTP boards ... and look what you find!
I appreciate the guidance I got from both Simms and LivnLegend with regards to the web design. The page is still a work in progress, and I very well may need to contact either of them again for help. I hope I can continue to do so. Both leagues have excellent pages devoted to them, and no doubt a great group of owners. -Travis |
