That's one of the best things I've heard since A-Rod becoming a Yankee. Boston try's to crawl there way back to Texas to try and acquire A-Rod before he can become a Yankee. Boston must obviously be more worried then Derek Lowe and Tim Wakefield let out when they were interviewed.

Was it Enrique Wilson that took over for Jeter last year when Jeter was out? I remember going to Yankee Stadium and people weren't very high on Enrique, or am I mistaking him with someone else?

im not a yankees fan, but yea he did. it takes a lot to fill jeter's shoes. i see wilson as a good bat off the bench bat who is versatile in what positions he plays. i think hell do well in a chance to start. but who knows

who was it that came in after Wilson? didn't someone do really well for Jeter? I think he was pretty young, but I don't really remember, it was so long ago and I don't really care for the Yankees.

Toronto has nothing, Delgado wont do anywhere near what he did last season, and halladay will lose a ton more game because that club wont score anything this year. I dont care how good they were last year offensively....they wont do jack this year.

Lofton
Jeter
A-Rod
Williams
Matsui
Posada
Giambi
Sheffield
Cairo

That look right?

(stupidity at it's finest above here, fixed the Vlad thing and got rid of the Toronto Blue jay statement after realizing my ignorance thanks to ill)

I don't mean to harp on the whole ignorance/brain fart thing, but Giambi batting 7th and Sheffield batting 8th?

Also, the guy who filled in for Jeter the first month of last season was a kid named Erick Almonte. He put up decent numbers, enough to make you think he could be a solid major leaguer in a couple of years, but nothing to make you think he's a potential superstar. He probably has as good a chance as anyone at the Yanks' second base slot, although they might have soured on converting SS's to 2b's.

yeah, i thought the same thing, but i looked back at some Box Scores of Yankees games (including the last game of the WS) and it had Giambi batting beneath Williams, Matsui and Posada...i wasn't actually trying to come up with an actual batting order, just kinda wondering.

MSG SportsDesk reports that because A-Rod deferred some of his intangibles in his contract, in return he will stay in a sweet in all Yankee away games. He will also be wearing the number 13.
