Completed SBC Park (Formerly Pac Bell)
Anyone else getting fed up with the corporate names applied to parks? I realize it is a fact of life that if you spend a half billion dollars on a new ballpark you have to have a sponsor for everything, including the restrooms. It sure plays havoc with continuity, though. It's bad enough that the current free agent situation requires even less than casual fans to struggle to keep up with their teams rosters, now ballparks change names every three years, as well. (Side note: keep your fingers crossed for a Tampa Bay - Houston World Series of Orange Juices) The names also have no asthetic value to them. Petco Park? C'mon.
Okay, that was my rant. It's the price you pay to get to this ballpark - the completed version of Pac Bell. OOOPS! I mean SBC Park. If you saw the early version you'll notice we now have fans, more boats, out of town scoreboards, and a revised scoreboard clock. I also changed the stadium name on the scoreboard and added an SBC banner ad to the outfield wall. Enjoy! Last edited by Teflon; 01-29-2004 at 02:09 AM. |

I don't know what else to say - thanks again.
Also thanks for a completed "Pac Bell" version alternative to "SBC" I too am frustrated by the constant corporate ball park names – Pac Bell didn’t feel so bad, kind of like Wrigley. But SBC Park is brutal – it will always be Pac Bell to me.

Teflon, I will gladly read your rants 50 times over in appreciation when you post a park...that and this one I completely agree with as a die-hard Giants fan. I miss the 'Stick (the name, good god not the park)
Thanks again!

bump - hate to see this slip off the front mod page - some people might miss it.

Is this teflon the same as Teflon Skies? I remember what great work you did some months back. Great job.
