Looking for a league
Hey there folks, after many solo projects in OOTP, as well as countless FPS on-line leagues (I ran a league for BBPro that went 16 seasons) I am finally ready to make the jump into online OOTP leagues. Here is what I am looking for, followed by my "credentials" so to speak.
- An active league (one where at least half of the owners really would consider it the top league they are in). - An honest, fair commissioner, who acts in the best interest of the league at all times. - Good "extras" i.e. Owners who write stories, voting, etc. - Mature owners (no offense to anyone out there I hope, I'm sure some of you get the jist of what I am saying). My "resume" - Online baseball leagues since 1997 (primarily FPS) - Ran an FPS league that went for 16 seasons (and many of the owners were in it for all 16. I nearly had people crying when I had to fold it. FPS + XP = bad) - Started with OOTP, on a solo basis when OOTP 4 came out (didn't hit the boards until last year though). - Honest, solid GM, who isn't going to get out of line, tank, berate owners, etc. If you think I would be a good fit for your league, post a link in this thread with what team is availible and what email I can contract you at.. I can do fictional or real players, possibly preferring fictional (I like not having expectations). Thanks!

Check out the S3BL.. www.s3bl.ootp-leagues.com
We are currently finishing up our 3rd year of the World Series. Before we get into free agency the few inactive owners will be tossed, and you will be able to get a team. If interested e-mail me at njtusso@yahoo.com

Our advertising thread is here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...threadid=53400 We would love to have you aboard. We are full of older, mature GM's who are very active, write stories, and our fictional players are household names to us. And being a smaller league, only 16 teams, we really get to know each other personally, make friends, and the league is super competitive. Objectively, you could not go wrong in our league. Email me at deh34@cornell.edu if you're interested! |

I just want to say that everything John said about himself was completely true. He ran what I felt was the FPS league around (and my favorite) and certainly anyone would have thought it was a first-rate league.
Nonetheless, I really want to say that any league with an opening should look no further for a first-rate owner. |

Craig - Hey man, what's up. Yeah, send me an email when you guys get it running. I'm at least 50/50 that I would join, it all depends on my time responsibilities when it pops up. But I would highly consider it, just on principle because I had a lot of fun in our little BBPro world.
Brian - Thanks for the kind words. Man, Chad (the old Cleveland owner (not sure if he was before your time in HRBL), emailed me, and wanted to know if he could take down HRBL. That was kind of a bummer. Even though it has been dead for over a year I would still every couple months go check it out...then hunt for a way to get BBPro to work on XP, without being a big hassle or screwing up my computer. Then I would realize I wouldn't have the time even if I could, at least not the time I used to, to make it what it was again. Definitely a bummer of a day. But I think it's safe to say that a lot of people considered HRBL the best BBPro league they had ever been involved with, and that was the whole point to begin with. Thanks again.

Heinz,
Check out tMBU (the MoneyBall Union). We don't have an opening at the moment, but may in the near future, and we've only just started. We've got some great "hooks," and I think you'd really enjoy being in this league. Thanks, - - - JSB

Come check out MLIB
Come check us out at MLIB - Major League Internet Baseball we are a league that people want to be in not that they have to.
MLIB - Major League Internet Baseball has an opening for a dedicated and diverse owner. This is an OOTP5 league that uses players from all ERA's. We have Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Joe Dimaggio and even current stars like Greg Maddux, Todd Helton, Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez. Openings in this league are few and far between, we have 28 teams in the league and 12 have been around since day 1 which was 10 years ago. "In our amazing 10th season, 1st using OOTP5, 5th using OOTP Engine" Welcome to the Home of MLIB. The league where you not only manage the team but own the team and call all the shots. Draft the players, sign free agents, hire an on-field presence and shoot for the World Series. We have waivers, a veteran Draft, Rookie Draft, we reward owners that participate, we have weekly columns like "PTI - Pardon the Insanity" which has been around for 3 years. If your looking for a cookie cutter league that sims quickly and goes through tons of seasons in a hurry then this is not it. IF you want to have a league that encourages franchise development, with all the twists and turns of real life and MLB, then this is it for you. We have all the stats and more. This is a participation league so if you cannot participate then this is not for you. The game is not required but reccommended. We will be using OOTP5 for next season as well. So it is a good investment. We have CBA discussions, Salary Cap, and franchise players. Every team has a shot to do well if they spend the time. We all have fun and enjoy this league emensely if you want a league that has been around along time then this is it we have 5 former sim league commissioners in the league that left their leagues for this one, why because as they see it, "This is the best and most diverse league on the net!" Come find out for yourself and fill out an application at Major League Internet Baseball . Come fill out an application, just because you fill out an application does not guarantee a team as we want the best owners possible. So check us out and enjoy. Mike Rogozynski MLIB Commissioner |
