Okay, not sure if anyone else has mentioned this (I skimmed the posts, but haven't seen it), but there's one thing I find that I liked much better in ootp3 than in the new design. Now, the PBP takes over the spot where the stats of both pitcher and hitter are, so that you can't see them as the play unfolds. Yet... the spot where you choose what play you want to do remains empty.
This is annoying because I like to immediately see how stats are updated. For instance, if my guy hits a double, I'd like to see how many doubles he now has - which I could in 3, but can't in 4. Same with the number of strikeouts a pitcher has. It's weird, but I feel less in tune with what's going on in the game, when I can't see specifically who's pitching and batting by looking at their stat boxes while the pbp is going by. Is there any way to move the pbp so that it appears in the box where we choose what we want to do, while leaving the pitcher/batter stat boxes on the right hand side (and getting rid of that oh-so-nice radio)? This is (btw) a very SMALL design complaint. Overall, of course, the game is amazing. I've already gotten more value out of it this weekend than the $30 I spent on it... |

I also noticed this and I also liked the design of this particular feature in 3 better than 4. This is only a minor issue, but I love watching my player hit a triple and able to see how many he had last year and how many he has this year.

I posted this: <a href="http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=11&t=000323" target="_blank">http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=11&t=000323</a>
without thinking about your point. But I get the same feeling. I like to see what a players stats are at the end of a play, before it updates. Maybe these two things could be integrated, say, move the pbp over to the left corner to address your request, and add a scroll bar to it to address mine. I think that would be just peachy. I would be OK with losing the radio

Actually... that's a good idea to add the scroll bar too. So I'll second the combined solution as a good one.
Now, is there a way that this can be done without burdening Markus too much?

*bump*
Still wondering if there's an easy way to make the switch. It appears that the pbp is exactly the same size as the empty box where you choose what you want to do each play... all we want to do is move the pbp to that box, and get rid of the radio so we can keep tabs on the pitcher/batter stats. Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks! |

Well, I have noticed that, sometimes, a line of pbp text will be longer than the box in the left corner, and would stretch into the hypothetical second column I mentioned in the other thread. Still, it could wrap around, eh? I have no programming knowledge so I can't say what the time/energy factor would be on this. Of course, Markus is like some kind of a superhero or something, so if anyone could do it, it would be him
