1939 Stadiums
I need to find out if anyone knows where to get a file with all the older stadiums. I'm not talking about the photos. I want to find out if anyone knows if someone created a file with all the correct demensions, and tested ball park factors. I've tried doing this myself, but the details in OOTP5 want more information than I can find on any website, or in any of my books. I've seen these classic park.dat files available, but dont remember where.
Or if anyone knows of a site other than these 2 thats gives detailed information about the older ballparks http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/index.htm http://www.baseball-almanac.com/ I also have books about ballparks, but none of these resources give all demensions... OOTP5 requires 7 demensions from LF-RF... all i can find are 5 demension resources.

Alot of the time, if only 5 dimensions are listed, then the other two that OOTP asks for were the same as the one to its right or left in the field of play.
There used to be a file out with dimensions of all the old stadiums and the changes made and the year of the changes. Someone might still have it. |

I have seen a file or two like this. Once again, even if I cant find the file, im sure im missing a website resource that would give detailed demensions for all the parks, which would work fine. I'm pretty confident in my ability and experience with OOTP5 to be able to enter in the correct ballpark facotrs for each, but in order to do this, I need the demensions.
I used to know of a site that gave details of every stadium for each year in existance, but it has either shut down or none of the search engines i use are able to pinpoint it.

You might want to try:
http://priorydesign.netmag.easyspace.com/historical.htm Has accurate stadium files for all teams from 1901-Present. I am not sure about the wall heights, etc but of course those do not impact actual game results aside from play by play for home runs. Most importantly the stadium DAT files are accurate in terms of Stadium Factors for batting/pitching, seating capacity, etc. Hope this helps. |

Here it is. All you'd ever need for dimensions, etc for historic or present day parks.

That sportplanet.com site that Cooleyvol lists above is the same link that I was going to provide...I use this site quite a bit for all my historical leagues. Like he says, it gives you all you will ever need regarding ballparks.

Here are the year-by-year park.dat files that I use from 1901 to 1992 (had them current to 2004 but a harddrive crash lost the last 10 years or so). You'll need to either change the name of the stadium to match what I have them named or will need to edit file separately to note what your stadium names are.

2nd part
I had to break the file up into 3 parts to make it below the minimum size.
