Hmmn, well I know Puresim is in Beta (finally) and looking very good (although it won't be deep enough for most people here). But I doubt Markus is particularly excited about that!

I think whoever posted about a massive online multiplayer Sports game may be on to something.

But, it is quite a different game. You can currently only "watch" your games (so to speak, w/ NO interaction), it is strictly solo play(no online league capabilities) so there are a few major differences I feel. I believe that Shaun has put alot of work into the game and hope that it does well for his benefit.

I think he is producing another game like Football or something. But he sure is an evil individual to be doing this to us. Kinda funny how the biggest thread in a while is all about heresay!

Steve, that was a very gracious remark about Puresim. I'm on the Beta Testing team and I know Shaun is aiming for a less micro management approach, but he has nothing but praise for OOTP on his site.

It's addictive in it's simplicity as far as I'm concerned, but the stats and history freaks won't like it.

I would be SO psyched for a football sim by Markus.. Front Office Football is okay, but I lost interest in it after a few seasons.. I love OOTP and just imagine what Markus could do for a football sim.. but what about a name? How about
"Through the Uprights" ? (I know.. kind of lame.. give me time to come up with something better..)

I might get flamed for this....

I really hope Markus Is not gonna make a football or any other sport game. As It stands now OOTP takes most his time up. and time would have to come from something. maybe less patches for the game or less new features for the next OOTP.

SAY IT AINT SO MARKUS

its probably another game like everyone else is saying. basketball would be the logical choice. I doubt Markus would create a football game since Front Office Football somehow is related with ootp3 interface or some garbage that Im not 100% sure on.

Or maybe its just College baseball, where you can transfer your students into the draft... but how that is related to "sports" is beyond me since he specifically singled out "baseball," i dont think it would be sports related.

Some guy on the High Heat board is claiming to have enlisted Markus & Pierre to help create something called The Link, which supposedly somehow links OOTP & High Heat. Sounds like it will somehow make the season files compatible with each other.

Not sure what to make of this. The same thing was announced last year, so I'm not entirely convinced that this is legit.

I tend to agree with you on this, but of course, I'm sure that if Markus wants to do another sport that he enjoys, he will manage to do both very well.

By the way, I'm now getting volunteers and donations for the OOTP army so that we can show up to General Scott's house at 0700 hours to discuss the big announcement.

I believe Markus stated that the announcement had to do with baseball sims and sports sims in general. That being said, I have my doubts that he is coming up with a football, basketball, etc game. The thought of a link between HH and OOTP falls more into this category than most other theories that have been posted.

Don't forget to bring donuts Major!

Edit - BTW the link between HH and OOTP is NOT (I agree kid34k it fit the bill the best so I did some digging) the announcement. (from what I have been lead to believe (take that with a grain of salt of course..).)
