WBL Openings!
http://worldbl.netfirms.com/
Hey all, after the unexplained disappearance of our commish (again), our league has decided to continue on behind the strength of our extremely dedicated GM's. However, due to the disappearance, we have lost seven of our not-so-dedicated GM's. Therefore, I am looking for seven GM's to take over the following teams: Tokyo Tsunamis New England Revolution Rio de Janiero Renegades Dublin Shillelagh's Quito Banditos Jamaica Rollers Djibouti Shakers As you can tell, we are a fictional league. We have 16 teams and in the past have run two to three sims per week with a week's worth of sim time per sim. We have a $75 mil salary cap. Our dedication to this league means that we are extremely active and competitive. In addition, we are also of the experienced, older GM variety. There is every type of team you could want. Some playoff contenders, some farm system leaders, and teams in the middle. Let me know if you're looking for a specific type of team (loser or winner) and I can help you find what you need. In addition, we are at spring training of the 2006 season, which is our fifth. Email me at deh34@cornell.edu if you're interested. Last edited by deh34; 01-21-2004 at 06:05 PM. |

As the GM of the WBL's Seoul's Assassins, I also want to extend an invitation to any potential GM's out there. We are a great league, with some interesting player story-archs that have developed through the creative efforts of many of our GM's.
And you know... I think the fact that our league is refusing to die after our commish vanishes says a lot about the current group of GM's. I'm sure we're the kind of league many OOTP players would like to be involoved in. Brian |

I was one of the 7 that dropped out. I would recommend this league for those interested in fictional leagues. I am in another fictional (OOL) and one is enough for my tastes.
This is a good league that has had some bumps in the road. These guys are very passionate about this league.

New England, Dublin, Rio and Quito are taken!
One more team left!!! Djibouti Shakers - ready to turn a corner or sink to the bottom... Just some added info on our league - you can rename your drafted ammy players (within reason) and move your team within your geographic area (based on hemispheres). Personalization of your team is very encouraged!!! You can email me at deh34@cornell.edu Last edited by deh34; 01-30-2004 at 06:57 PM. |

Just to add, I just took over the Dublin franchise. This looks to be an excellent league. There was some issue with a commish splitting, and while that may seem bad, the 8 dedicated owners (out of 16) have done a stellar job of keeping it going and I think it will be a great one.
I encourage anyone to take on the challenge of Djibouti...as they are not only in my division, but that of the two-time champs...

This was the first fictional league I joined. The articles written by some of the owners really brought the players to life and gave the league a more "real" feeling than a real player league. Based on my experience in this league I never joined another real player league. It is a good group of owners with a great sense of humor.
