problem with stadiums
I downloaded some stadium packs but cannot get them to work in OOTP5. I follow the directions but then when I go to play a game, the default OOTP5 background is there. and it isn't even the field that used to be there, now it's the main OOTP5 background. know what I mean? it's the picture of the big ballpark that appears in the main startup screen.
I think I did everything right installing it though. I unzipped the folder, changed all the images to .bmps, put them all in the graphics folder, and then copied the .dat files into my league folder. anyone have any ideas? |

Sounds as if you did everything correctly up to a point. Now you have to go into League Setup>Edit Ballpark and assign the stadium pictures to the teams you want.

I tried going into the edit ballpark and assigning the pictures by changing them to (for example) 'fenway.bmp' and I didn't get an error message or anything. it seemed like it worked, but then it didn't show up during the game. I know I have the image in the right folder and I know I entered it correctly. nothing seemed to change except now the old field 'in-game' picture is not there anymore.
anyone else have any ideas? thanks |

Which field are you putting "fenway.bmp", etc... in? If you haven't already maybe you should try placing it in the other field. I always use "In-game field picture."

oops, missed one of your earlier posts, ok maybe try writing "default.bmp" in the first box, and see if that brings back the in-game picture box. That is the one you need to use. I think the first box is for background.

I tried putting fenway.bmp in BOTH boxes and still nothing. I still don't get it. I ended up just changing my in-game picture to 'field.bmp' and that seems to at least give me a field to look at while in-game. and when I go to the 'team setup' screen, I see the 'field.bmp' image there, but then when I go to team setup with 'fenway.bmp' in the box, the image is just a black square where the field image should be. weird. and I know the image is in the graphics folder.

Ok, I'm a little lost. Can you post a screen shot of your ballpark setup screen (where you enter 'fenway.bmp')?

Are you sure the fenway pic is in .bmp format?

Did you download the stadium graphics into your main OOTP graphics folder? If so are they individually in the folder or are they in a subfolder?
You might want to check out http://priorydesign.netmag.easyspace.com/historical.htm That site has the best stadium files around and they are easy to install & use. Good luck! |

Did you actually use the converter to convert the files from .jpg to .bmp or merely rename them? Renaming doesn't count, you have to convert them using a utility or another program.
