WANTED: Editor to edit the retired.dat file... does it exist?
Are there any editors out there for the .dat files?

No! But If you want to edit the carreer stat, you can try this: (not sure if this gonna work, but give a try, if not I have no other ideas) 1 - Backup your entire League 2 - rename your players.dat file to playersorg.dat 3 - rename your retired.dat file to players.dat 4 - Try to edit the players with the career editor 5 - Save everything 6 - rename your players.dat file to retired.dat 7 - rename you playersorg.dat to players.dat Give a try and see the result. If it's not working, use your backup. Good luck Last edited by PLG; 01-09-2004 at 10:24 AM. |

Nice idea Pierre, but it does not work
. You will get a "Players.dat file is corrupt" pop up message when you load the league, and when you try either a team screen or the free agent screen you'll get a OOTP5 application error and the program will crash.

Correct. I tried that after our league transferred to V5 but didn't work, as Killebrew said. You can edit the retired players' stats with Pierre's editor if you have already started your league with a previous version and want your own career leaders. I don't know if it may give you trouble down the road, but looks like a safe bet. I have asked for a feature to allow deleting certain career stats and not all of them like the game currently does. That would give the chance to erase all the stats until, say, 1960 and keep the rest, for example.
