What's the funniest fictional name you've seen?
Right now, I have a character on Anaheim's AAA club who has a teammate by the name of Chone Figgins.

Chone Figgins isn't a fictional name. Plays 2b for the Anaheim Angels. His full name is Desmond DeChone Figgins, but everyone calls him Chone.
Funniest real name I have seen is Coco Crisp. Took me a month to convince my roommate that he was a real player. |

Thanks for the info Stacy. My bad...forgot that I have a mix of real of fictional players in the minors.
I know what you mean about Coco Crisp...I have a friend who's from Cleveland and is an avid Indians fan who didn't believe he was real either. Also, did you realize that the Indians can put together a lineup that features Coco Crisp and Milton Bradley??!? |

Yeah, truth is always stranger than fiction. Remember that old Basketball player whose first name was actually World Be Free? I worked with a guy who's first name is "IamunderstandingAllah" We called him Iam.

World B. Free... His actual name is Lloyd B. Free, but he got the nickname "World" growing up.
The strangest name I've seen in this game is really quite a cool name: Basilio Xiques. /bc |

Chone Figgins' first name is pronounced "Sean." I've never understood that.

I had a friend in middle school named "shawn" but it was spelled Sewan. We called him C-Wan. I also went to school with a kid named "George" who spelled it Jorj.

The single A affiliate for Anaheim also has a pitcher named "Raymond Heinsohn". Wonder if he's any relation to anyone we know?
