Web Based League?

Hey, I'm real interested in ordering this sim and starting up my own league. I was just wondering, as far as commishes who have leagues already, how much work is involved with running a league? I am currently in college and was wondering if it's feasible to do this in my spare time?

Also, as far as more specific things go, how do you guys handle the rookie drafts in your league?

And is there a way to eliminate finances (salaries, tickets, everything) when starting a league? Like if I got someone elses roster pack, would I just be able to turn finances off? Thanks a bunch.

It is highly recommended that you get the game and play it for a while and join some leagues and get to know what you are doing before you open a league. There is more than enough leagues without people coming fresh into it and opening a league.

I am not terribly surprised no one else has replied to this yet because I am sure most people read and rolled their eyes. You can do what you wish of course, but it is highly recommended you do the above first.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone.... heh, but I'm just testing this out and creating a league with friends who haven't used the sim before either. I will obviously get the sim and mess around before I commit to saying I'm opening a league, but I've got interested parties and the first season would be a learning experience.

Understood, and it is a fun experience, but a lot of the questions you will ask right now can be answered by simply playing the game and finding out. It would save us a lot of time, and probably save yourself a lot of time. Searching around these boards and getting the game will answer 99% of your questions.

Hahaha, well thank you. I'm ashamed of myself though. I was going to go to sleep to think over this monumental purchase of $20, but I am/was too eager to mess around so I'm buying it as we speak.

My first bit of advice would be to take part in a league yourself as a GM before you think about starting a league. For 3 to 6 months "atleast" and ask the commish questions. Read the "online leagues" forum also.

Yeah I agree...I think there are enough questions that I asked just being a GM when I first started. So yeah join an online league and grow from there.

And actually if you are looking for a league I think we still have an open team in the IBA at www.teknokool.net/~darnoff if you wanna check it out.

Karen, not everyone can read posts and reply within 30 mins, so lower your expectations....

My expectations are not high, I saw the thread had over 30 views before a reply, which lead me to believe this.
