drinking formula

anyone have a formula of drinks for each of the characters to increase the liklihood of obtaining the desired outcome?
I like to start em with a planter's then on to a JB or JB if needed, my hit rate for additional gains is about 20% that includes checking my stamp collection too.
Not great though. I usually have a tough time with the manager or team mates.
I give +2 on Charisma and am usually the pragmatist or team captain type. And I've never gotten jack squat from the GM.

I don't know of any formula, but like you, I've never gotten anything out of my GM or teammates. Sometimes I get info from my manager - but when I'm too drunk to remember anything. Maybe luck has something to do with it?

Maybe it will be different for you, but, with skills maxed out, I talked with my manager on several occasions and I get something to the effect of "you already know everything, he has nothing to teach you."

Drinking with the characters is dependant upon your personality class...

Teammates like the Team Captian
Managers like the Self Promoter
No one really likes the Perfectionist (but i think this puts gains into auto-pilot)
The Pragmatist falls somewhere in between

In anycase Charisma impacts interactions a great deal as well.

I usually get the guy down to 3-4 drinking bars and then ask him. I have never played as the self-promoter/Barry Bonds type and I have NEVER gotten money from the GM. Don't know if it is just a small sample size though.

It is really a guess, but from what I can tell it is true. Most RPG's are even more influenced by "personaility" or "type of creature"

Well, I had some luck using some combination of Muller's and Pina's. I would feed the owner two pina's and got money maybe 4 or 5 times during my career (going to the bar every days until mid 20's, then only during allstar breaks / idle postseason). It was a ton in the minors (I got anywhere between $100,000 to $990,000), and I got maybe 60% chance giving the manager or teammate a Muller XXX then a Pina.

Whatever the case though, my basic theory is that the best chance you have getting something from someone is to have the person say they are in the mood for jokes or whatever, in between total drunkness and calmly asking for another drink.

I guess this doesnt exactly work all the time; I finished my first career then started another in the same league... it's my first season but I've gotten no $$$ from owner, and only a handful of successful manager or teammate ratings boosts... for the record, with both players I only had +1 charisma and +1 luck as a team leader.

Maybe that'll help or maybe it won't... I just need more luck with the stupid talent boosts.

I have pretty good success w/the ladies giving them a Tequila Sunrise to get them started and then hitting them with Cream Liquers until they go below four bars and their speech gets a little slurred. Still strike out more often than not, and about half the ones I take home turn out to be frigid.

I always buy five of the $2 Pilsner beers (six and I get drunk). With the Manager/Steve Kruffey/Graphic Designer/Teammate characters, I get results about 50% of the time. This really adds up...in the minors, I was able to typically add 5-7 freebie Contact and Eye points every year, on top of those you get for normal development.

With the Owner, I always seem to get one or two "bonuses" per season. The smallest was $60,000 and the largest I ever got was $1.2 million.

I never, ever, get "drunk". It almost always results in at least two consecutive horrible games, and then those drag your mood down even more the rest of the week. Not worth it.

Charisma seems to have an effect. One of my first characters had a Charisma of 0, and he rarely got a drinking invitation accepted. The above stats were for a character of Charsma 2 over a 20 year career.

I tried the "5 Pilsner" approach over the course of one season. I went to the bar every day and talked with anyone in there with a few exceptions, like Marcus or some of the women. Over the course of that season, it worked great. I received money from the owner four times, totaling about $2M. My eye and contact ratings almost doubled (this was starting out as a new player in A-ball). I even took quite a few ladies home. I don't think my mood ever dropped below 50%, except when I was demoted from the majors to AA. The best part I liked about this approach was that my player never was drunk.

It should be noted that my player has a Charisma of 5. He's not lucky or smart, but he sure can talk!

Maybe it is just luck, but I've found many times, when they stop saying things about getting more drinks...when they say tell me more jokes, or something like that, that's when I go in for the bonus or tip.

It works a lot for me. I could be crazy though.

I've gotten increases in "eye" --- and absolutely nothing else to date (mid-way through third season --- 2 in A, 1/2 in AA, 1 month or so in AAA). I really could use a boost in money from owner...but have had no success...

/sigh

for me, everything except the owner seems automatic. i think my guy is like 6'2 225, a 4 in charisma and the pragmatist.

for the manager and the other random people (i'm guessing the ootp developments people) you improve eye. for the manager, a pina colada works for me. just one and it's good.

for teammates you improve contact. for me it's the same, basically one of any of the drinks in the last column works ( ). i just usually do a pina colada, ask, and i go up. i can have one pina colada with my guy and not get drunk, so i usually stick with that.

for the owner, it seems all random. i've tried 1 pina colada, 1 tequilla sunrise, 1 zombie, or whatever it takes to get him totally wasted, but i think it's all random.

for fights with people ( ), i have no clue. i guess it depends on the size. i've beat up guys who were 6'6' 260 and gotten wasted by people who were 5'9 160. that's probably random to an extent also.

these smilies are so random.

I finally managed to get $120k from the owner while in AAA.
I have most successfully gotten eye improvements from the
manager. I believe I improved contact once in AA while talking to
a teamate.

I'm just suprised Mike hasn't banned me from the bar due to all
the arguments we've had.
