SQL Error with OOTP5 History Utility
Hi all.
For some reason in a league I'm running now, I always get the following SQL error when the app is importing histories after year 5. I've restarted the league 3 times now thinking maybe it was an out-of-the-ordinary glitch, but it's happening every single time I finish season 5: "Data provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status" Anyone have any ideas of whether there's something I can do to figure out why this is happening? Could be a blank history entry or something similar in the CSV's, or maybe something I should be looking at in the Database itself? Jason

Also, if it helps (or if Cato or someone reads this) I can zip up my CSV, MDB, and HTML files for checking.

Hm, ok, I found another thread on this, so I apologize for the duplication.
I'm going to import stats again and look at the database and try and see where the update is stopping. Maybe I can figure out which entry in a player's history is causing the problem. Jason

Ok, not sure if this matters, but the history file it's choking on is incredibly large (actually 3k, the largest of any by far in my league).
I'm going to delete all batter/pitcher of the week/month awards out of the histories to see if the filesize is what's making it choke. Just to show you what I mean, here's the history in question: Code:
Drafted in 1st round, 8th overall pick, by Minnesota in 1900... Had first career hit on 4/2/1900, off Richard Piercy (TEX)... Hit first career homerun on 4/6/1900, off Matthew Goldblatt (KCR)... Was selected to the 1900 Allstar game... Injured on 7/15/1900 with a Inflamed Abdominal Muscle, out for one week... Hit for the cycle against Toronto on 8/27/1900... Won Gold Glove at Shortstop in 1900... Won Player of the Week award on 5/21/1901, hitting .520 with 3 HR, 11 RBI... Won Batter of the Month award on 6/1/1901, hitting .350 with 9 HR, 35 RBI...
