What is Best Prospect rating?

What does the "Best Prospect" rating of 1988, for the Milwaukee Brewers mean?

For me, I do an export every couple of weeks or once a month in the game.
OK thanks, great job.

Great question and catch. For some reason, it was pulling the prospects number instead of naming the best prospect in the system. Pushed a quick fix.

I'm noticing that the app is insistent I owe millions of dollars in dead money for players I traded seasons ago. Across the board, the players are off my books. Unsure why it keeps logging them as financials owed.

That is weird and something I haven't noticed at all. Could you provide some screenshots of what it is doing here, so I can see if I can replicate on my end.

The players at the top on the right are no longer on my books. I tried updating to the newest release, and it still shows them as on there. Also, Smylie, De Geert, Kryhoski, etc. are still on my team, so they aren't owed dead money---they have active salaries!

I've noticed players in the minors account as dead money which is kind of a half-truth but 40-man rosters. Also it looks like players from the International Complex appear on the roster page instead of just players on the active roster. Crazy how far this app has come in a weekend! Talk about agile development and augmented abilities!

Can you explain the DEAD contract values? If I trade away a player at the deadline unless I'm retaining a portion of the contract, doesn't the full remaining value go to the team team? This is what I see. Zavala and Peebles were traded in 2036 at the deadline. No salary retention.

Dead Money is not correct

Yes, the dead money shown here are for players who out of the organization and did not leave any dead money with the club.

Alright, everyone. I found a huge flaw in the way I was handling contracts and flagging players as dead money. I pushed a fix that should resolve this everyone, it did for me.

This is amazing work. One small thing I noticed is high school WAR is flagging as a promote sign on new draftees.

Also it looks like next year's budget is not using the projected budget. Not sure if that is possible to add but would be helpful for tight owners.

Enjoying 3D Play with Front Office

Just played a 3D game and I had the ability to search a few things in Front Office at the same time. It was great to access a bunch of information while I was playing. I often think of many things to improve or research while I play, now I can. Again thanks!!!

A couple of questions

I have never used Claude so I do not know how it differs than other AI's like Chat and Gemini. Through what perspective does Claude look at the information? I have done the whole assistant Gm thing with other AI's but you have to tell it what perspective to look at the information through. Basically I have to tell it which stats I value from stats to personalities before I feed it information.
Example: If I have Gemini evaluating pitchers in a game from the 50's with a 2026 mindset they will hate all of them because the velocity in the 50's was nowhere near what it was today.

Which brings me to my next thought. When I have used it in the past I have kept the same conversation going so it remembers things we had already discussed. However, over time (this is the free versions as well) the chat becomes so long that you begin to notice it forgets important details and then you spend time correcting it until you realize you have probably reached a point where you know your org so much better than the AI does.

From what I gather in the thread you are feeding it a fresh .csv file every time you use it so maybe you don't have such issues, but that brings me back to how it is going to value things if it isn't pre-set? What happens if you put in the same .csv file twice as a test? is the information the same both times?

I write none of this to be critical of your creation because it looks really cool. This is more about my frustrations in using AI in this role and am really wondering if you had figured some things out that I have yet to discover myself. Thanks.

Great thoughts and reply. In this particular use of AI, it maintains contextual awareness of the data presented within the app. CSV exports expand each time they are exported instead of being standalone, if that makes sense. So, the app and AI continuously see the growth of data providing a progression of the season, league, etc. With that said, it is just AI and is going to make mistakes.

As we keep building this and getting feedback from our own testing and everyone here, we will keep improving it. As of now, the logic for the AI chat is rather simple with little no guardrails. Fine-tuning it, pre-setting parameters, definitions, etc., are things that can and probably will be done, but as of now, I have had no issues asking it the set of questions I had and it being accurate.

The high school WAR will be fixed and push out today.

For the budget, OOTP doesn't set next year's budget until the offseason, and there's no column for it in the CSV export (team_financials has this year's budget, plus payroll figures, and nothing forward-looking). So the app had no honest option but to assume this year's budget holds flat, which is what you were seeing.

Because I think it would be more realistic and easier to know how to use the AI chat, I have added coaching staff to the chat that will answer questions relating to things in their purview. It utilizes that coaches tendencies, approach, and personality from the CSV output to provide a report. For example: asking a pitching coach that prefers veterans over young players which one to pitch tonight when they have similar stats will result in Garrett Cole being chosen over Cam Schlittler (Yanks fan here!). To another posters point, this provides perspective and makes it feel more like you are talking to someone that has specific knowledge about your team.

The update is live! For now, each coach is built from 9 data points, but I plan to expand it to more so the chats are even more personalized to the person.
