Player development options

Hello everyone,

I was wondering what you guys are using in the option for players development when you start a new game in OOTP27?

Thank you !

I generally do 1.100 for Batter and Pitcher development speed. Honestly, i don't really know why, I guess in past versions it seemed the development needed a little boost, so I just always do 1.100 now

Nothing, no matter what you set players will stall at about 40 current tools/ratings and never reach their potential.

I settled long time ago on settings that produce results I find realistic (in my personal view are realistic). I do this:

batter aging speed: 0.880
batter development speed: 1.100
pitcher aging speed: 1.000
pitcher development speed: 1.300
development target age: default
aging target age: much older

He keeps saying that, but I have never seen that in any version of OOTP. In my current game, I have (because I set it up that way), close to 30 players with 4.5 stars or more (in a 48-team league), with dozens more 3.5 stars or more.

Not saying it is not happening in his save, but I have never had that issue in OOTP.

This is quite the exaggeration

What settings did you use to get close to 30 players with 4.5 stars or more? Was this using the PCMs? Or something else?

Your question is a classic "to each his own". I have moved to 1.25 development for pitchers and hitters, mostly because I am impatient. I do see some gains by young players, but even at that level they are not radical but gradual. And of course not everybody, by a long shot. I - for some reason - try to match those numbers with hitter and pitching aging, also now 1.25. I'm not a big fan of old guys hanging around too long. That aging setting tends to promote turnover - and hey there are minor league guys ready for the Show!
