I still have no idea. Reggie and Rollie were not in the rosters of the 2026 game I started. I had to use the search box to see them. I think the ages would be their best season. Fingers was 34 in his best season with Brewers.

Stop loading and looking up people in the same All-Time Great QuickStart that was created a dozen years ago.

As I stated previously, it will never load the facegens.

Click New Game, then click New Standard Game. Click Start Now. Then look up (via the search bar in the upper right) the various players I have asked you to look up, from Rollie, to Reggie to Ernie.

Touch no settings.

If you see the faces of those three people, then the fg files in the pack are loaded correctly.

But I repeat, they will never, ever, ever appear in the old GOAT QuickStart.

Okay. So when I loaded a 2026 STANDARD game, I get the correct historical faces--if I search for Rollie and Reggie, they look great... they are just not part of this universe.

What kind of sense does this make?

Okay. I will concentrate on the positive: the faces for these two HoFs look great.

So, how do I play with the GOATs with their correct faces?

You mean the quickstart? You can't as Lans told you those quickstart were done years if not decade ago, since than the naming convention for the FGs changed that's why they are incompatible. But on a positive note the FGs work as they should, so you can start a New historical game (whatever season you wants between 1901 and 1995* and start your league history from there) - the second option in the menu - and all the players will have a correct FG and not a game created one. Just ignore the Quickstart as we said they are very old and you will never get real FGs with those (as the format is First Name_Last Name, a format we don't use anymore).

* I say 1995 because it's the last year the FGs are updated (you can download the 1991 to 1995 via my signature as they aren't in the main pack yet).

It's normal it's the 2026 season... both are long retired.

But...I'm not crazy--that Quickstart GOAT option would not work--as confirmed by LandsdowneSt--AND as ignored by customer service/developer chats.

I'm sure it is a great sim, but holy hell, this was not exactly a flying start.

I am going to start a GOAT league from here.

Like I said they were created a long time ago... try with the photo in place of the FGs, I have a feeling those will be compatible and, at least, you won't have very average (to be polite) game created FGs for the players.

You will need to download the complete photopack here and unzip it in the photos folder as the game have zero player picture. Fot those if you have questions you should ask cinemaodyssey who maintain the pack.

BTW I think you are one of the few who still use those quickstart games

Let folks know if you have trouble importing players to populate the GOAT league you are making. Lots of people know how to do it and can assist, including how to use mass import txt files to review players from a given team over history. For example, here are all the Red Sox batters and pitchers (some on both lists) from 1901 forward to pick from.

Good luck. Choosing the GOAT players can be as much fun as playing out the game imo. Also, glad the .fg files were in the correct place.

If the Devs don't have more information, then those on the forum, I don't see why they would answer. But they are probably lurking around. And since they are busy and human beings, talking nicer about them may help your cause. Also, if the Devs answered every question on the forums, when would they have time to do their job? The forum's purpose is to answer questions and help each other out. Maybe someday you will have some knowledge you can impart on someone else.

Funny, I don't remember asking any of you for advice on manners or how to make sure I don't cause any hurt feelings for the busy developers.

If I knew anything useful about this game to share, I would and will definitely help anyone I can...I don't feel a need to offer any advice on how to be polite or respectful. This is a baseball game. I paid for it, and so did we all, and it has a lot of glitches.

This sure isn't anyone on this thread's fault. It's the makers of the game.

I think a couple of you are more frustrated than I was because you didn't have the answer either. Don't take it so personally. Lighten up! You are all really smart fellas.
