Updated Pre-Draft Rosters (Download Here)

Hi all,

We're really looking forward to this weekends draft, as I'm sure many of you are as well!

The draft is one of the most exciting times of the year for all MLB fans.

We were hoping to have a patch out by now that included updated rosters, but since the patch is taking a little longer than we'd hoped, we wanted to give you all the chance to at least use the updated rosters before tomorrow's draft.

The patch is coming soon, we should have a public beta at some point next week, if all goes well.

This roster update as related to the draft includes some ratings updates, around 100 new players, and most importantly, a ton of id updates that means players will get pulled into the live start on their correct teams (once we add/update the file for that, which we'll try to do over the weekend, but certainly by early next week).

To install this file you need to download and/or copy it to your OOTP 27 data folder (whatever your path is\Out of the Park Baseball 27\data\world_templates).

When you download or copy it to that folder, you should be prompted to overwrite your old default.wtp file.

If you are not prompted, most likely you're unzipping to the wrong folder.

After it's in the right place, you can just start a new game (either new standard 2026 game or live start) and it should load the changes.

Watch this space for an update, as we'll try to post a newly updated file with some new players added to the pool early next week, if not over the weekend.

My default.wtp is in data\world_templates folder. Do I download default.wtp to that location or to the data folder

Yeah, download to the world_templates folder. My bad, sorry. I gave the wrong link initially. It's corrected in the main post now.

Yeah, we're working on getting the latest rosters uploaded. Hopefully will be today, tomorrow at worst.

Once they're up they'll have everyone through the first 10 rounds included.

We also already updated the draft list on the server, so that if you run a live start as of today, it should automatically assign whatever players are included and linked in whatever rosters you're using (these or others) to their draft teams.

Wait, I'm confused, sorry. So what is the difference right now between the live start server vs the link?

The link gives you the most updated draft pool. Once you download and install, then you'd start a new live-start game and all the guys included in the rosters will be correctly assigned to their teams.

If you just run live start without downloading and installing the updated rosters, the same thing will happen but there will be a bunch less drafted players in the rosters and a lot who are there will not get properly assigned to their new teams because their ids are not updated.

Probably nothing more in the next day or so. Just the update I mentioned above, which is already out.

It'll take some more days to get all the lower round guys created and included, as those take a fair amount of research.

I added file and started a live start (as of yesterday). Rosters seem ok but when I load game, it has my team playing on the day after the ASG and not against the team they are actually scheduled to play after the break. Does the schedule get messed up when doing something like this?

I don't think this should affect the schedule at all, but it's possible something is not synched correctly in the live start with the schedule around the ASG in the base file/data dump from our provider.

Just ran the Live Start again this morning. It looks like there are two games in question here. For me, it's the Braves/White Sox and Cubs/Blue Jays. Per their schedules from MLB.com, the Braves/White Sox game is to be made up on Aug 20th while the Cubs/Blue Jays is re-scheduled for Aug 6th.

EDIT: I'll also add for markprior22 that in Commish Mode you can just remove these games from the schedule and put them on those days (or any other day) if you choose.

The file is updated with a bunch of new players now. There should only be around 70 or so guys from the whole draft still missing.

Same plan as has become the norm, basically all drafted players and a bunch of udfa guys before the additions stop.? Not trying to be impatient. Just trying to build a real players college feeder and im piecing together a few different draft classes and trying to decide if it'd be better to wait before importing them into 1 piece.
